........Riot went out of their way to record over 7 minutes of various taunts growls and other crap.... ........................... ........................ And i fucking LOVE IT. FINALLYYY. WELL DONE RIOT.

This is how a MONSTER should sound, not Khazix with his witty remarks or Kog being a puppy. The Void are MONSTERS, Homicidal evil hungry monsters. AND FINALLLY RIOT MAKES ONE SOUND AS SUCH. WELL DONE RITO, WELL DONE. Standing Ovation Edit:

NO, we cant. It breaks the feel of the monster. When i think of playing a monster, i think of playing a Beast, an ANIMAL, something that acts on instinct. It may be intelligent, extremely so, but it dosent reach that level where it talks.

There is such a primal, visceral feel to something that dosent speak, you cant relate to it at all, or understand it, you cant reason with it, THATS WHAT A MONSTER IS. AN ALIEN ONE AT THAT.

Thats how the Void should be, thats how Should be ( can be the exception since being smart and knowledge is his thing, and that is also what should make him unique).

And thats what i fucking love about Rekt'sai. ** Finally, a champion that trully lets me feel like im playing a 100% ALIEN MONSTER.**

Not a fan of this direction one bit. The Voidborn are NOT just homicidal monsters incapable of speech, they are essentially otherworldly conquerors that command vast legions. Every other champion from the Void is capable of speaking English, so it makes no sense why they'd suddenly retcon them to be voiceless.

Additionally, Summoners have a mental link to the champions they summon, so even if the champion doesn't speak their language they can still understand them. There's no reason why Rek'Sai's dialogue should still be growls then. Immensely disappointed with Riot's decision :/

Just because something is a monster, does not mean it cannot be intelligent to some degree.

I don't like it as we learn nothing about her in her own words, just as we know nothing about Gnar in his own words. Everything must be told to us outside of the game.

It's kinda weird, and I feel like this is a problem exclusively because no other monster lacks speech. I mean, Riot finally releases an actual female monster, and then she's the only monster without speech... why? This feels bizarre without a precedent, and just increases the likelihood of people assuming (or in many cases INSISTING, it turns out) that she's a he/it.

It's also a bit disappointing that she looks like Skarner, has animations like mega!Gnar, and doesn't get a smaller hurtbox when she burrows despite her visible area literally noticeably decreasing.

Loving her kit, though, and at least we have a female monster that isn't Anivia after all those years.

But intelligent, sentient monsters are far scarier than ones that just growl at you. What's scarier, a random monster killing you or a monster that knows exactly what it's doing and is going to take huge amounts of pleasure making you suffer? Alright, fear is subjective, but there's something deeper in a being when they can tear you apart and laugh while doing so.

I find myself imagining an encounter between Gnar and Rek'Sai....

Rek'Sai: RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWREWWRRWRRWWWWRRRAAAR

MiniGnar: GADA

Rek'Sai: RAWWWRRRGGGRRRR

Rek'Sai lunges at gnar, jaws gaping ferociously. Gnar nimbly leaps out of the way and tosses his boomerang at Rek'sai, hitting her on the snout. Rek'Sai swipes Gnar, sending him flying. Rek'Sai tunnels into the ground and prepares to erupt around his prone form and devour him. However, the moment Rek'Sai bursts from the ground, Gnar transforms!!! MegaGnar has arrived MOFOS!!! Gnar wallops Rek'Sai on the nose stunning her and causing her to back away. Gnar then throws a boulder at her and leaps into the air preparing to crush the fearsome beast.

MegaGnar: RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWRRRWRW

Rek'Sai: GRRRRRARWRWRAAR

Queen Rek'sai just hasn't bothered to learn how to speak inferior Runeterran tongue....it's nothing but the barking of common dogs compared to a higher language.

Cho is implied to be intelligent, greatly so.. That's why he has a voice and why he's awesome. Cho is malicious, merciless, and takes great pleasure in watching mortals suffer

Ironically, I disagree. I think having constistency would benefit the lore department greatly. While I have no faith in narrative ever since Trundle was unceremoniously retconned and replaced, I think the best course of action for them would be to figure out what they want their lore to be (what type of stories do they want to tell), how they want to relate the lore and the game, figure out what the world is and then make everything consistent with this vision.

If you have a solid clearly defined foundation to work from, it will greatly easen anything one tries to build on it.

However, due to having the old lore, this all is greatly complicated and honestly rightfully met with resistance.

I think the second half of her VO is for the Eternum skin. It has the same echo-y effects as Eternum Noc.

seeing as Cho'Gath is a scheming badass and Kha'Zix is an intelligent hunter, I feel like they are fine. Kog'Maw shocked me the first time I heard him.
