Riot has said that they have plans to steer the lore away from the Summoners as they develop. This will mean Nocturne will get some different dialogue. One of his quotes is "Do you fear me, Summoner?"
Im sure there are others too, but yeah. Just my thoughts.
Summoners should be as irrelevant to the lore as Summors rift is. Completely an arbitrary thing.
However i don't think that riot should just go and jump to remove all instances, "Do you fear me summoner" could just be referring to a legacy of things during the retcon, but Nocturne is pretty far removed from direct lore relations really.
I love Sejuani's line "Prove your worth, Summoner" Luckily it's on her traditional skin.
"Only you can hear me, Summoner."
"Think you can handle me, Summoner?"
"Summoner, your darkness beckons!"
Thats three champions, two of which have had a VU.
