Kayn: Hodgepodge or...?

Let me preface this by I mean no disrespect. Mechanically, I think Kayn/Rhaast is really cool. Story wise, he was pretty cool too, but when his official lore came out, I couldn't help but feel like he sounded more like a character someone made up in the boards. Ties to Noxus, Ionia, and the Darkin, as well as lore that was highly dependent on Zed, another champion? It seems like too much going on for it to be a truly good character, from a story perspective. It's something we used to warn concept creators about in the Champion Concepts Thread.

Perhaps I'm the only one who feels like this. I'd love to get some other input, from both players and rioters alike. What do you guys think about Kayn from a lore perspective? Keep the discussion going down below!
