Male characters have cool features and reasonable, fitting stories

Female characters lately all rely on relationships, like Miss Fortune and the hundreds of her sex partners, Fiora and the wedding, Illaoi and Gangplank

When will this meme end and when will there be an asexual female champion with a strong appearence like Illaoi?

And the most satisfying post of this discussion by Raoul :

{quoted} Hey, you have to understand: Writing female characters like male characters is very hard. That would force the lore team to actually look at women as people who can live without men.

He is right, Riot. I really hope that you notice this. And my response:

{quoted}

Get all my upvotes man (sadly I have only 1). I just don't get it, why is it so hard though? I'm not a writer, but even I could do it. The only purpose of these threads that I'm creating now is that Riot would actually notice this idea and put it into consideration, like they did with the other ones. I know it sucks to be me and to be disappointed, but guys, if you are glad with what came about all of this, be happy and just support those people who want to see something interesting for them. No one will complain then if everyone gets what he wants.

I'm surely ready for the next 100 downvotes, but still, this is a thing. If it bothers somebody like me, I'm sure it bothers someone else as well. They just don't write it here.

My main concern is that such rare thing as Illaoi (and I mean her appearence) wasn't meant to have relationships from the start. The thing is, Riot went by the safe routine so people wouldn't call Illaoi "a man", because the fact that she has relationships with a man automatically makes her look more feminine, despite having such appearance. SO they tried to satisfy both people who wanted strong female character AND people who wanted "women in need". But I didn't like it and it wasn't necessary. This is my point.

Graves and TwistedFate stories are revolved entirely around one another.

Jayce is almost revolved entirely around Viktor.

Nasus and Renekton revolve around each other.

It's not just females, but it's not a bad thing. Relationships add depth when done right, and so far, they've all been done right.

Great were back to this shit again.. I really miss the 90's where the word OBJECTIFICATION did not exist.

What are you talking about? Riven's lore mentions nothing about relationships......Neither does sorakas, Kayles, Lux....

Seriously where do u get off even thinking that? Miss Fortune's character is that of a woman from a port city. It was never stated that all of Miss fortune's crew were her sex partners. That's your assumption. It was stated that that was a crew she gathered using her charms and wit. Completely different thing right now.

You just sound like a lesbian extremist to me. Because you aren't even listing reasonable champions like I did above. For characers to have relationships in a game like this adds more life to it. There was nothing sexual about Fiora's lore either.......that was about a political wedding. Illaoi and Gangplank is implied to let you know how strong there relationship( or past Relationship) is......

Seriously, you are telling me LeBlanc doesn't have a reasonable lore? Are you going to think "LeBlanc started the Black Rose by selling her body?" Get real. Nothing in League of Legend's lore is overly sexual and you can argue that down all day. If there are suggestive themes like Evelynn's personality it's because this isn't a pg-13 game. Suggestive elements are allowed.

When will this meme end and when will there be an asexual female champion with a strong appearence like Illaoi?

Where does it says Illaoi is asexual? Further more why would you be looking for a strong asexual female anyways? Is this another Feminist thread? Rek'sai is a asexual female champion. Why don't you go and set your sights on her? Because it sounds to me like you are just making another irrelevant argument about how males dominate blah blah blah etc.

It's really no reason for this rant because you aren't even making sense...

You fail to realize there are actually a lot of females who don't have an intimate relationship with a male. Diana - She has no friends what so ever, male or female, and hates everyone who won't accept the power of the moon, so basically everyone. Elise - Just a lot of spiders. Jinx - Doesn't care about anything that doesn't explode. The only thing closest to a friendly relationship is the fact that she wants to hug Ziggs, and hes terrified of her. And then here's just a bunch more I don't feel like explaining: Akali Anivia Annie Caitlyn Evelynn Janna Irelia Kalista Karma Kayle Leblanc Leona Lissandra Lulu Morgana Nami Nidalee Orianna Poppy Quinn RekSai Sejuani Sona Soraka Syndra Vayne Vi Zyra Honestly, even more than I expected when I was putting this together.

Let's actually go through some female champions and put your accusations to the test.

Ahri A fox transformed human by a dying mage. The transformation is incomplete and she is forced to steal the life essence from others to survive (she finds men most easy to charm.) She realizes that its wrong and seeks help from the greatest wizards in Runeterra. Not at all defined by her "relationships" but rather her moral struggle to balance her need to steal life essence and her desire to live.

Akali One of the most badass martial artists in Valoran. Only mention of relationships in her lore is that she works with Shen and Kennen as one of the shadow warriors to enforce the balance of Valoran.

Anivia The eternal guardian of the Freljord. The only other person mentioned in her lore is Ashe, who Anivia allied with to protect the Freljord.

Annie Dark child born in a magical place to two very powerful wizards, making her ungoldy powerful. Only people mentioned in her lore are her parents, who are only there to explain why Anne has such profound magical gifts.

Ashe Became the leader of one of the many tribes of the Freljord at the age of 15. Her story parallels that of King Arthur with her discovering the legendary bow of Avarosa and uniting the tribes peacefully under her rule. No mention of any relationships though her old lore did say she married Tryndamere to help unite the tribes.

Caitlyn Single handedly cleaned up the streets of Piltover and made it one of the safest cities in Valoran. Only person mentioned in her lore is her unidentified arch-nemesis who leaves ornate cards with a 'C' on them at every crime scene.

Cassiopeia Short lore discussing how she became half woman, half snake. No mention of any relationships save that she's the youngest daughter of an influential family in Noxus.

Diana A free thinker and scholar who was branded a heretic by the Solari after she found ancient artifacts of the moon. She tried to reason with the elders but was condemned for death so in self defense she killed them. The whole experience kind of made her crazy and now she vows to kill anyone who opposes the moon. No mention of any relationships.

Elise Worshiper of a dark spider god who sacrifices innocents to maintain eternal youth. No mention of any relationships.

Evelynn One of the most deadly assassins in Runeterra. She might look like an escort but there's no mention of any relationships in her lore.

Fiora Rebelled against the status quo, trading dolls for sabers. When she was forced into an arranged marriage she rebelled against that as well. To restore her house's honor she killed her father and took over their house rather than her brothers, breaking tradition yet again. Her entire life she defied stereotypes of women and became one of the most feared duelists in the world. Not at all dependent on anyone, let alone a man.

Illaoi I don't even think I need to cover this one.

Irelia Inspired Ionia and came back from the brink of death to single handedly beat back a Noxian invasion. Only people mentioned in her lore are her father, her brother, and Soraka.

Janna Street child of Zaun who became a powerful sorceress and a voice against unjust magical experimentation. No mention of any relationships.

Jinx Crazy thief who desires only mayhem and destruction. Only people mentioned in her lore are Caitlyn and Vi.

Kalista General of the ruined kind who opposed his madness to her death. Now she is a spirit of vengeance, answering the calls of the betrayed. No relationships.

Karma An indomitable leader of Ionia bound to preserving life and peace whenever possible. No mention of any relationships.

Katarina Deadly assassin who cares only for the glory of her house. No mention of any relationships.

Kayle Immortal warrior who has fought a war against evil for over 10,000 years. No mention of any relationships.

This is starting to get really tedious but I think you see my point. Women in League are no more defined by their relationships than men. At best relationships are mentioned in passing. What is truly memorable about these characters is their strength and their struggles as well as what drives them to fight no matter what the odds.

I challenge you to show me any game or any other creative work with so many strong female characters.
