Why new Swain is 3 months away from now?

It started from this tweet https://twitter.com/Spideraxe30/status/934847711295295491?s=17

Firstly, I don't mean to discredit the sur@20 guy. I just found that his "3 months away (about Feb)" is still questionable even it's information from an insider guy. To be fair, we don't know of what "3 months away" from? 3 months before we can get our hands on new Swain? 3 months before his reveal? If he meant the first. Yeah, it could be possible. A bit too far but still possible. If he meant the latter that's quite far.

Before i go any further lets look at Reav3's statements about this issue. Swain would highly likely next after Zoe. (Not 100 percent confirmation) Swain plan hasn't been delayed.

From LoL patch history. Riot has been rarely released "general contents" (skins, skin themed event etc.) and "major contents" (a new champ/vgu an ultimate skin or a new gameplay system like Rune Reforged) with 2 months gap in between.

If Swain will be the next VGU after Zoe what will be new contents to fill 3 months gap in between? New skins and new skins and festival new skins.? As I stated above. Riot has never been released general contents and major contents with 3 months gap in between. Let alone that Zoe already released for about 2 weeks before his tweet.

Let me repeat it here again. If he meant we can get our hands on new Swain in 3 months. That's possible. but I found it really hard to believe that it would take 3 months from now before his reveal.

If his information is true that might mean. 1.No, Swain will be not the next after Zoe. There will be a new champ before him. 2.Riot decided to increase cadence of A new champ/VGU release time. 3.The incoming Noxus relaunch event is very very huge to the point that it can make Burning Tide event a drama in kindergarten. 4.Dragonmaster Swain will be released with the VGU.

With normal scheduling Swain would be released in December as seen in the past of the alternating New Champ->Rework->New Champ-> rework. As they normally would aim for, but since 7.24 which should be out next week and then a micropatch mid december. For the most part no one will be in Riot between 7.24 and 8.1. 8.1 if following recent trends will be in mid to late January leaving 8.2 around Late January, early February. Then Swain will likely be out in 8.3 in Mid February.

I still feel we'll see him on the PBE around late January to February.

Link looks like it didn't work properly; would love to have the info you were referring to.

Wasn't the last champion to get a skin with a VU Nasus way back when with Infernal Nasus?

Tbh,3 months isn't that surprising. Riot basically has 5 slots at a time and each slot is filled by a team who actively works on a new champ or a VGU.(there are alos groups who work on the preproduction of the next big projects, but those don't matter for this).

Swain is done by the group that fills the Urgot-slot,so it would make sense for him to get released 6-7 months after Urgot, which would be either in january or in febuary. However in addition to that we have to keep in mind that Riot takes a break during the christmas season,so it would make sense for Swain to come out half a month later than that, meaning that he'd be likely released in febuary or march of the next year, which would actually fit the 3 months.

(also the next champ is done by the group that filled the Kayn-slot and since Kayn was released before Urgot I'd say that Swain and the next champ are most likely going to be released back to back, just like Kayn and Urgot before them)

Doesn't riot go on break for Christmas for a little bit or something?
