Which are the champions that are now currently at the S tier of needing a full VGU ?

Hi , I haven't been a part of the community for a long time , but now I seem to be slowly coming back. I remember way back when (We are talking about pre WW rework , so take this with a bucket of salt) Riot talked about champions and divided them into tier of what they felt was the urgency to have them reworked , with a champion possibly skipping the line if they had a good idea for said champion (Irelia was considered A tier urgency vs Morde's S tier , but her rework came first , and due to the later rework being somewhat recent , I feel maybe Riot still has said list that they somewhat go by). Judging by the fact that Shyvana and DrMundo were on the voting poll for "who do we want to see reworked next", I feel like it's fair to assume that Riot considers them S tier in urgency. Malphite is probably also on the S tier , as well as Chogath Tryndamere Nocturne and probably Rammus. But what about the champions that I remember way back when , that Riot always said that they wanted to work on , and had a lot of room to update , like Quinn Shaco Trundle Udyr Kassadin , who are the middle ground , with room to improve both visually and gameplay wise , but aren't as bad as the ones previously mentioned. What about those , any news about them ? And what about the champion who's kits are functional and see quite a bit of play , but have a dire need of a visual update , like Skarner Jax Corki Olaf Leblanc Vladimir Gragas. Are we supposed to just suck it up and wait , or are these champions possible A tier candidates ? Also , can anyone explain to me why did Ezreal get a update before any of the champions that are listed above ? He was legit never mentioned to be the least bit urgent by Riot and has historically been one of if not the most popular pick in LOL. I would put him in the second category of heroes I mentioned , and he kinda skipped a massive line , while someone like Leblanc (Who I remember from a post from 2012 saying that they hated her visuals but her kit is fine , so she will have to wait ) has been in queue for much longer.

The current list of champions in the highest priority for a VGU, as far as Riot posts go anyway, are:

Corki Chogath DrMundo Nocturne Rammus Skarner Shaco Shyvana Udyr

This is based on this post by Reav3 at the time of the champion roadmap video from earlier this year: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/story-art/yQNMhiKd-new-roadmapso-again-after-one-yearreav3-can-you-give-us-another-new-update-on-the-tier-1-vgu-list?comment=0004

It's likely this list has changed a bit since, as Reav3's original post had Pantheon, Volibear and Fiddle in it, all of who are scheduled for updates in the foreseeable future. This'll be something they talk about a lot, so I imagine a few new champs have also joined that list.

not gonna lie, while I'm excited for all reworks, I'm especially excited for Cho'gath and mundo (admittedly, I do wonder how far mundo will go for redesigns, I hope he gets to retain the syringes)

There are different VGU tiers. Some just need small updates, like Ezreal. Others need full, from the ground up VGUs.

I think the current S tier list is ChogathCorkiDrMundoNocturneRammusShyvanaSkarner. This taken from a post Reav3 made 6 months ago. There were more, but I removed them because they already got VGUs by this point or are confirmed to be getting them soon.

Edit: He also mentioned Amumu in another post. And also mentioned a few others as well.

So currently, these champs are on the line after Fiddlesticks/Volibear

Chogath Corki DrMundo Nocturne Rammus Shyvana Shaco Skarner Udyr

Ultra S tier (99,9% chance to be picked after Fiddlebear): Shyvana source: blog where Fiddlebear victory is announced

Needs heavy gameplay changes: Skarner source https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/cjciqo/pantheon_the_unbreakable_spear_champion_theme/evdjh1b/?context=3

S tier is therefore in my guess: Nocturne DrMundo Skarner

Since when are Udyr and Shaco middle ground? Especially Udyr. His entire visuals are atrocious and make all his skins look wretched, even the new one (no offense meant just being honest). As for why Ezreal was updated first, I dont know. I agree Udyr, Skarner, Shaco or Leblanc should have been vgu'd instead. Exreal looked awful but not as bad as these others. That said, I rarely play him so if he wasnt updated i wouldnt care. But there are champs I refuse to play specifically because their visuals are the worst (Udyr) while some are decent and just need some visual improvement (Leblanc especially her skins and Shaco's dark star skin both of which look good). But when Udyr gets a skin, it is ruined by his awful design compared to Shaco and Leblanc who are at least decent. SO who knows. Hopefully vgus wont be abandoned completely for new champions.

Now about new champions: i prefer a focus on current game content to making lots of new champions. I also feel wierd when a new champion comes out because not only is it new and sometimes unexpected (lore/design wise) but it changes the game for current champs too. I think we need like a full year break from new champions just for one year. Maybe 2. Just to get the game settled before stirring it up again.

Vlad doesn't really need a visual rework he does just fine in fact I wouldn't be surprised if he just never gets touched for the longest of times if that long of a time exists before the end of the world or league. L

Ezreal got the update, because Riot wanted to experiment with a new type of VGU. They wanted to try out how much benefit they can get out of updates, which are mostly just visual work, while keeping kit changes on a minimum.

Ezreal was a great test subject here. A popular champions, but at the same time his visuals were extremely outdated, so the chances of people being interested in him getting a visual update were quite good. At the same time, his kit was mostly functioning, just his W was a skill that didn't tie in his kit very well.

He fit the criteria for what they wanted to test here perfectly and so he got an update, then we got told that Riot might consider to keep doing updates like these, if Ezreal turns out a success in the eyes of the players. Personally, I hope that this is the case, since there are some champions on the same tier like Ezreal (good functioning kit, but desperately need a visual update) that I would like to see updated. About the S tier of full VGUs, I just know of the same champions Sharjo mentioned.
