"Gothic Horror" inspired skins, and thoughts about them.
Firstly, I gotta say these look amazing. Secondly, I can't wait to see the slash arts Thirdly, I'm glad my boi Nocturne is getting a new skin.
And lastly, I wanna know where the inspiration for these skins came from. There's a hint of their origins but they feel like a mixture of several various styles, so I'm getting a very kind of slightly medieval themed intermixed with a Victorian Gothic horror feel off of these skins. I'll explain further.
While Signed clearly makes callbacks to Victorian-era doctors who'd whisk off fresh corpses down into their labs. It's pretty cool that the imagery that's associated with Gothic elements are there on him too.
Nocturne doesn't really feel like the scary chained up wraith that you don't wanna mess with to me. When looking at the model, it's more like he's reminiscent of the Nazgul Ringwraiths from Tolkien's Middle-Earth world. That's where I'm really getting the sort of medieval fantasy feel which I mentioned above.
When people think of Gothic Horror the staple most people look to is the Lovecraft touch on the genre. That's clearly present with Kayle, as she gives off this appearance as a clean, but dark herald of a Lovecraft Deity.
Honestly overall though, I love all three of the skins appearances. I hope more skins come out for this line, and I'd love to get the thoughts from the Rioters who designed both the splashes and models. I'll most likely have a different opinion once the splash arts become available to see, but for now I'm only basing my opinions off of the models.
What do you guys think?
