Why Leanna's treatment of Annie is blatant abuse

from what we can see in the video and the new bio for Annie, its pretty clear that Leanna was to some extent at least emotionally and mentally abusive to Annie. one thing i think people should keep in mind is that based on the bio it seems that even Gregori didnt know about Annie's powers, let alone Leanna, so it wasnt a reaction of fear. She plain and simple was blaming Annie for things that as far as they knew were either normal for a kid, such as getting in a fight with Daisy and Daisy getting hurt, or not even her fault to any degree (as far as they knew), such as the house burning down. It seemed like she used Annie as this figure to pin every problem and hardship and pain on without any grounds she knew of, and i think that this is probably half of the source of the dark aspect of her character, the other half obviously being the deaths in her life.

as a side note, with this new lore we have i feel like her in game character is unrealistically dark. unless im mistaken in-game Annie isnt much older than she was when she burned her house down, and thats really not enough time for the personality of a like 6 year old girl to turn that dark

Considering that Gregori called her "firefly" and her mother was a witch, im pretty sure that both knew that she had fire powers. Or do you think that Daisy never told anyone about the fire powers that Annie used? Its not like Magic doesnt exist in Runeterra.

Actually at 6 years old its not unreasonable that her personality has developed like that. Now we dont normally see things like this develop till adolescence, but There are cases where young children have started hurting animals and other things and when left untreated can become sociopaths or worse.

So its not unreasonable that she is already so dark at 6 years old

People forget neglect is a type of abuse. The cinematic reminds us that you can't always rely on adults to act like adults.

It's not exactly a stretch to call Leanna potentially abusive. She's literally the evil stepmother.

Leanna was a good woman, annie is a sociopathic piece of shit.

Leanna should have finished annie with a butcher knife.

Why do you think they didn't know her powers? Leanna says "Your daughter is a monster. You know it's true!".

I mean it makes sense, given the general time period and culture.

I mean... Leanna basically got angry at Annie for a damn drawing
