Some of the skins in league have some pretty cool lore behind them

For example, take Aatrox His justicar skin is how he appears to the people he aids. His Sea Hunter skin is how he appears to the people of Bilgewater. *edit: I done goofed. This is how he would appear as a Marai pirate. Mecha Aatrox is not actually Aatrox, but a robot created by Rumble and Heimerdinger, inspired by the legends of Aatrox.

For some champions, you have to stretch it a little bit, but you can get some cool things out of it Ahri Dynasty and Midnight are how she dressed while she was still seducing humans for their souls, just her daytime and nighttime dress. Foxfire is how she appeared just after becoming human. Popstar is what her career would have been if she had not become a champion in the "league" (or whatever it is that these champions are fighting for) Challenger is how she would have appeared if she had continued to consume the souls of humans. Academy is how she would have appeared if she had gone to school.

On some champions, we can only speculate wildly Amumu Pharaoh: If we assume this to be cannon like the other skins, then this is Amumu post mummification, about to be placed in a sarcophagus. We can also assume this to mean that he was a Shuriman king while he lived. Little knight Amumu is the start of a little story arc. Amumu came back from the dead with no memories, and no knowledge of the world. With this in mind, he went to school with Annie (probably with some illusion magic that he got by having some mage take pity on him). While in this school, he got a role in the school play, which featured the legends of king Arthur. On opening night, he broke the sword prop, and was kicked out of the play. After a couple of months, Amumu had the idea of wrapping himself up and sending himself as a gift to Annie, his only friend. He got re-gifted. Later, he almost became prom king, but lost to some guy with Trump Hair. This defeat drove Amumu into a deep depression, which is seen in Emumu. Sad Robot was an AI that was made to replicate Amumu's state of persistent sadness for research purposes. Also, they were allowed to do more to a Robot than to a real (even if undead) person. In Suprise Party, some of the other champions threw a Party to celebrate the memory of Urf. Amumu came to join the fun, but he ran into the table with the cake, knocked it over, and ruined it. He got kicked out.

His Sea Hunter skin is how he appears to the people of Bilgewater.

WRONG

Sea Hunter Aatrox is actually an aatrox from an Alternative Universe where he is from the race of the Merai (Like Nami) instead of a Darkin. He hunts sea creatures that sells in the butcher bridge and its part of the Pirate crew of Garen.

Varus Arclight skin is how he looked just after absorbing the Pit of Pallas powers before it corrupted him.

Xerath Guardian of the Sands is how he would look if he would be on Shurima side.

My two favorite ideas/speculation for skins are

  1. The Steel Legion was created by Jayce to fight off the Battlecast monstrocities that Viktor created.

And

  1. Blackfrost Anivia is the Anivia consumed with corruption trying to fight off the watchers and protect the Frelijord.

"COME MORTAL BEINGS... BRING YOUR ARMIES TO MY DOMAIN, ALL WILL PERISH IN ENDLESS WINTER."

:3

Also that Aatrox skin thing is p cool and something I never really thought of.

I like to think of Aether Wing Kayle as the canon version of Kayle, honestly.

That might be because she looks near identical to Uriel from Darksiders and i love the concept that angels aren´t medieval winged warriors, but rather extremely high-tech winged warriors with an ego that´s a bit too overwhelming for everybody else to deal with.

Might be my love for AW Kayle and Darksiders talking though.

Project: Skinline is when Viktor manages to show people the benefits of machinery. I take he got the attention of some great inventors and scientists, thus the dysotopian age began. It's a more futuristic world. I'd imagine Demacia completely modernized in this age. A large corporation, began researching old warriors of some renown. This led them to the idea of converting them into cyborgs. I'd say they dug up their bodies(at least took their brains) revived them and enhanced them with advanced techmaturgy. Or at least got their dna some how and worked from there.

But, they had flaws. They couldn't keep control of their experiments and acted on their own. I'd say they all escaped but zed was sent to capture or destroy them.

That's my theory on it though.

Aren't these all speculation though?
