As a weapons enthusiast, I've been thinking, what caliber would 
weapon use, and what gauge is 
shotguns using? Tristana know 
has 357 caliber cannon, what about the rest? Stupid question I know, but I'm just curious.

Dueling pistols typically had calibers run between .45 and .65, so MF and GP pistols probably fall between there. Judging by size in hand, guessing MFs are more like .60s while GP looks about .50.
Given how portable and relatively small Jinx's chaingun is, I'm wagering it's .223.
Graves shotgun is such a monster I'm saying its gotta be 8 gauge at least, while with how Urgots knee cannons look, they seem almost more like some kind of blast vents than actual guns.

I dont know anything about guns, but based on how big the bullets of the guns that Miss Fortune and Gangplank are, i wouldnt be surprised that the caliber of those weapons is bigger than the ones of guns from planet Earth, after all, they have magic. Just look at the size of those cannons.

I didn't know if cait's net is like an attachment to the gun (like a grenade launcher) and it fires an alternate round, or if they are the same caliber. I forgot that flintlocks they went by pounds and not calibers. Apologies. I just thought of something for jinx, I went the get jinxed music video and saw the brass that pow pow was ejecting. They didn't look like rifle casings, they looked like pistol casings. Pretty big ones too. Grave's monstrosity is really weird. I saw the new dawn cinematic, and the shell is the size of his hand. It kinda matches a 4 gauge. As for urgot, I couldn't tell if he had some kind of cannon for his S H O T G U N K N E E S, or if it's like you said, a vent. Really good post.

JustaNewb3 votesNo. The bullets are aerodynamic, and do not expand immediately upon expulsion. The net, however, does, delivering more returned force to the barrel than the compensation mechanism could ever allow... thus blowing her back.

However - 'kick' is not caused by combustion, it is caused by pressure differential at the muzzle.
ahferroin71 votesNo, not quite. The net would still logically cause more recoil, but not because of any kind of external ballistics.
Once the projectile leaves the barrel, it has ZERO impact on the behavior of the rest of the firearm other than impacting how the hot gas leaves the muzzle. A net wouldn't have enough impact on the dispersal, even assuming it's made of thick metal, because the gas would just go around it. The reason it would cause more recoil is that you need a much heavier powder charge to launch an amorphous (and functionally porous) projectile, which in turn results in more bolt thrust (the rearward-force of the casing on the bolt-face that accounts for most of the actual (not perceived) recoil).

Mandalorian 1171 votesI knew I was forgetting a champion. Jhin makes his own ammo, but I think the people that set him free gave him the gun. It's aparently explodes on impact into a flower shape (like when you kill someone in game, that's how it works in lore) but it certainly is a heavy caliber.

Rather they seem to go with what they think looks or sounds cool, which is easy to do with guns because even mundane guns are fucking awesome.

ahferroin71 votesFirst off, either Tristana's cannon is not .357, or she is insanely small (.357 is just over a third of an inch bore (roughly 9mm), scaling based on that, she's less than a foot tall). Last I checked, Yordles are about 3 feet tall, and her cannon is about 2/5 her height, which would make it a much larger size (in caliber, that would be 14.4 roughly, which is just over a foot in diameter in the bore).
Graves shotgun is probably at least 8 gauge given model scale (fun fact, lower gauge means larger bore), while Urgot's knees appear to most likely be some kind of vent, not an actual shotgun.
Cait's gun should be somewhere around a .308 or .30-06, based both on scale and the fact that it's a hunting rifle (.30-06 is the highest standard hunting round for things not considered 'big game'), but she has an ability called '90 Caliber Net', which would imply that it's a .90 (or higher) caliber gun (such a thing does exist, search '.950 JDJ' on Google and you can find info (and a lot of funny Youtube videos)), which would imply she's using a hunting rifle almost twice the caliber of standard anti-material rifles (most such rifles are either .50 BMG, or 14.5x114mm (which is .57 caliber)), and implies she has absolutely insane upper body strength or that the gun itself has some kind of magical recoil compensation system.
Jinx's minigun is most likely either a .223/5.56x45mm (the same as the US M16 rifle, M4 carbine, and M249 light-machine gun) or .308/7.62x51mm (the same as the US M14 rifle, the European FAL, and the US M60 machine gun). Anything much larger caliber than that would be too hard to manage the recoil for (unless like Caitlyn's rifle it has some kind of magical recoil suppression system). Her rocket launcher appears to be a lightweight recoilless rifle with an internal counterweight.
Gangplank's pistol is a filntlock or caplock styled after a smoothbore single-shot pistol typically found in the times of Blackbeard (the smoothbore aspect is further reinforced by the short range of his Q, and the single-shot aspect is reinforced by the long CD). Given model size, I would guess it's probably about .52 caliber (most such pistols were designed to fire musket balls, which were typically just over .50 caliber).
Fortune appears to be wielding a pair of dueling pistols with a design based on a blunderbuss (she is very obviously not wielding a pair of blunderbuss, as they were essentially primitive shotguns, and fortune is very obviously firing single projectiles). Similar to gangplank, they appear to be flintlocks or caplocks, though they have to have some kind of magical reloading system, as the visible design would only allow for a single projectile. As far as what caliber, my guess would be at least .50, probably much higher (back in the times of black-powder firearms, it was not uncommon to find handguns with very large bores).

I think that you got it wrong, she is not insanely small, the thing is insanely BIG. She doesnt say .357, she says 357.. which means that the cannon is not 0.357 inches... its 357 inches.
