have tiny ears. This keeps on bothering me since it's probably that Tristana has big ears and how did she get them then? OR Lulu and Poppy need to be updated.

Tristana is the first female yordle post Great Yordle Unification Pass, so her appearance has since established a new standard for yrodles, just as Heimerdinger did before her. Rioters have commented they wanted to update Lulu as well, not to mention Poppy's relaunch is right around the corner.
I hope you don't mind the big ears, because it seems Riot is pushing it as the new standard:

Breaking news: Members of the same species do not have to look the same.
Poppy is getting a Sion-level update pretty soon, as you probably didn't know. Lulu is probably going to be updated in the future as well, because she could use some visual tweaks (And IronStylus and Ququroon of the ChampUp team agree on that matter).
