So i guess that Kindred masks are not just for show

http://www.greekcurrent.com/wp-content/uploads//2013/08/theater-masks-big-.jpg We are all kinda stupid, no one assumed that the masks are also a symbol. With "a Good death" story it's now more clear that Riot wanted to give a more "theatrical" side to this champion. The story of Magga being an actor and all that good stuff kinda confirm this. What i mean is that we forgot the main use of masks as items: Theatre Since ancient Greece we saw theatrical shows where actors would wear 2 opposites masks, for example the "sad" and the "laughing" ones. They are used to display emotions, and usually have also a deeper meaning to them.

So all of this is to say that now i think Kindred have a more "theatrical side" to them, that goes way beyond the simple "i bring death" concept. The masks also reflect the opposide sides of the Lamb and the Wolf. Lamb bring swift death to those who accept it, Wolf bring painful death to those that escape from it. So the masks suggest us that there is this strong dichotomy between Lamb and Wolf, and not only that but also the way they talk, is really theatrical.

So i think i got a better understanding of the champion overall thanks to that story, good job Rito.

I'm pretty sure a lot of people interpreted the masks as some sort of symbol or deeper value: ying yang being the most common.

I don't think Riot intended to display an affinity for theatrics with Kindred through "A Good Death". They intended to reaffirm the fact that Kindred is a part of Runeterra's mythology.

RiotWreckz stated: "Based on lots of discussions in the room, we realized that Kindred could be Runeterra’s first mythological representation of life and death." in his champion insight.

Often times plays are used to express fascination and pursuit of mythology. It was just a side story to help paint a picture in our minds of who Kindred is. The theatrics and vagabonds are just flavor choice from the author.

To me the strongest symbolism implied by a connection to the greek masks is the the original meaning of them in ancient greece; Tragedy and Comedy, i.e plays with sad and happy endings, respectively. Wolf is death by tragic ends, Lamb the death with a happy ending.
