I'm really afraid of speculations (Illaoi)

When Riot gives us a short description of a character before he/she is revealed, it causes people to make different speculations. Like, someone said that the new character is probably a witchdoctor, someone else said that she could be a an old priest and other people say that Illaoi is probably a female Gragas. Me? I thought that she might be a big warrior (top laner) who brought her teachings from Ionia to Bilgewater and fights using a chained whip with a big sphere on its end (similar to Castlevania's "Vampire Killer). But the saddest thing is - I'm more than sure that some people are going to be disappointed eventually. And something tells me that it's going to be me.

I'm hoping it's a utility mage with support capacity, but primarily a solo laner. We haven't had an actual mage since Vel'Koz (Azir feels more like an ap markman), and we've had pretty much everything else since then. Whatever she turns out to be I just hope she's worth the wait.

well you could apply this logic to pretty much every champion teaser that doesn't give us a clear picture of the champ,since everyone is going to assume different looks of the champ.

However I dunno how you get the idea that illaoi is a warrior who traveled from ionia to bilgewater,that uses a chained whip. I mean Illaoi was described as big,wearing robes(a warrior would probably wear armor) and with a large and heavy stone ball,but thats pretty much it. She worships nagakaboru,who is pretty much the patron of bilgewater and I doubt that she was the one who founded that religion considering that the bearded lady seems to be something pretty much everyone in bilgewater worships. Not to mention that she used magic to drive the undeads off.

Almost nothing of that sounds like the description you gave...

Well... i guess that's one of the problems with speculation. You just... well, speculate. Disappointment is pretty natural considering theories can't always prove right, no?

My guess is that she'll be an AP fighter/tank. Something like Zac or Rumble.
