The Madman of Zaun

By this point of the day, we all know that is finally getting what he deserves, and they will embrace his AP Juggernaut identity. Congratulations Morde Mains!

Now let's take a brief look back at how far we have come from the day Riot dubbed as day one for new standard VGUs. (Which is why I am not going to list while they definitely fit the bill, its not what kicked off this series of updates. Also gonna exclude incomplete updates cough cough

This many champion have changed the most, some full reimaginations, some modernizations, but most of them definitely were for the better.

Now I am about to speak of the juggernaut who is Jack the Ripper in LoL, inspired by Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, the balance team's nightmare, the most certified fake doctor, .

Dr. Mundo has been among the oldest champions in League of Legends, being part of the original 40, having one of the ugliest models in the game, and a gameplay that was not changed much at all.

In the new lore, he is basically a masochist, who enjoys feeling pain, who can regenerate very fast, and has obsession with "curing" people.

What is Mundo to me? Mundo, to me is a cleaver wielding purple madman, who is extremely muscular and goes where he pleases. He does what he wants. He is not gonna let you get away if he wants to cure you. At the same time, he is extreme durable, who can regenerate back the damage his body gets.

Why rework Mundo? His age definitely has been showing it up compared to newer releases, and I feel like communicating/reminding people & creating discussion of it can prevent situations where he gets the "" treatment which could be avoidable, if Riot sees more of what the community wants to stay. Also, he is one of the beginner champions now, being a 450 blue essence champion, he kinda needs to do a better job in being an exciting character for new players, who might prefer playing baddies like him.

What I would want to stay? His title, The Madman of Zaun is so brilliant and fitting, his regeneration needs to be kept, but maybe in a different way that might live itself up to the lore of being able to recover from anything, his purple skin and cleaver, plus some of the more iconic Mundo lines.

Reav3 mentioned he is aiming for a Sion/Galio level of rework in regards to Mundo, but there are things that can be saved and should be saved.

But Zoli, Mundo just got a skin, forget about him!

I know I am too early for a thread like this, given it is very unlikely he will be chosen for a VGU this year given they are doing all kind of animation, effect update on him, plus he just got that Christmas skin, but in my eye, he is one of the most binary champions left gameplay wise, right next to (who might even get his turn this year) .

players unite! Give your best shots at describing what would you like in his eventual VGU.
