Just from reading the incredible amount of comments on the boards about the kinds of characters people want. I feel like this is pretty accurate representation of what people want all the female champs to look like.

That doesn’t look like an old lady crone champion.

Variks the Loyal4 votes

If that outfit makes sense for the character, sure.

Here's your mistake - you think everyone wants the same thing.

Some people want skimpy, fanservice-packed characters - Evelynn MissFortune Kayn Yasuo Elise Taric Rakan

Some people want modest, more realistically dressed characters - Taliyah Riven Quinn Ekko Jayce

And some people want something inbetween - Katarina Syndra Vi Sivir

Why not have everything?

Nylisa1 votes

ikr? sejuani after her update? strong stubborn woman with lots of scars and a nasty attitude with zero tolerance for anything. and her face doesnt exactly fall into the cutiepie category imo!!!

the changes of her default outfit alone is a sign that Riot doesnt just go for the skimpy looks and they do care for variety and different tastes.

Variks the Loyal1 votes

I see both in Sejuani, honestly. She has modest ones like Bear Cavalry and Darkrider, and more revealed ones like Sabertusk and Traditional and Beast Hunter.

And it's good, imo. In a perfect world, most champions would have skins for every type.

Sexy Jack Rabbit1 votes

I wouldn't really call beast hunter 'revealed' http://s3.amazonaws.com/leaguesales/images/imgs/000/000/559/original/beast-hunter-sejuani-01.jpg?1466966559

She's just showing her tummy.

I think the thing that probably irked most about Sejuani's rework was the way it was handled by the designers. Reasons I remember being given? "The Freljord is a cold place so her wearing next to no armor is unrealistic." despite the fact that basically all Freljordian champions - especially the males - wore woefully little for such a cold land. The only one who wore less than Sejuani was Gragas, and even then you could argue that Olaf wore about as much as her. Something pointed out multiple times by the community.

And then there was some speal given by a developer that boiled down to 'Muh sjw feminism'. I think there would have been much less complaints from the community if they'd just said "We wanted to put her in some kickass armor" and left out all the jabs directed at the old design when "Welcome to the Freljord: Pants and Shirts optional" could easily be their slogan.

Sexy Jack Rabbit1 votes

I mean I don't feel that's accurate at all.

The frejlord champions being covered vs uncovered is about a 50/50 split to be honest. https://pre00.deviantart.net/084d/th/pre/f/2015/185/c/0/_league_of_legends__freljord_wallpaper_by_theladyclockwork-d8x32kw.png

You have some scantily and other fully clothed. It spreads evenly across the men and women.

Not too mention it's not fair to say "More men are uncovered then the women" when they outnumber the women 2/1.

You also need to take into account that a lot of people at the time were getting sick of the sexy champion shtick because it's all they had gotten since the beginning of League. When Riot said they were releasing a female from the Frejlord people were excited for something different, only to receive what was essentially a carbon copy of Ashe but on a boar. It's important to remember it wasn't just Riot who wanted to change her, but a large portion of the community as well.

So not going out of the way to acknowledge that they were appealing to the communities woes of yet another 'sexy' champ would of been taking all due credit for the choice.

Axzarious2 votes

When it comes to Sejuani's release, that might be so - I only joined around when Lulu was released. But I do remember the times around her rework, but I think simply making more champions that fit the non-sexy bill would have been the better choice. I've no problems with all the females they've released since then. People tend to react better to new content rather than redone content that doesn't quite match the original. It wasn't Fiora-levels of rework trash on the art and gameplay side, or Xerath/Karthus levels of destruction on the lore side.

You are also right about the men outnumbering the women in the freljord. That said, aside from Sejuani, Lissandra, and the non-human champions who aren't trundle? None of them have what i'd call weather appropriate clothing. Even Ashe is more modestly dressed than the men, who're lacking a whole lot more.

Sexy Jack Rabbit1 votes

Well if you list it off like that really it's still not comparable, the silly ratio really throws it off.

Out of every Freljord champ on Seju is truly modest, as even Lissandra has a pretty massive boobie window.

1 of the females is a bird and half of the males aren't human.

Axzarious2 votes

Are you saying that the larger number of ripped, broad shouldered males showcasing their pecs makes the comparison less apt? Based on the visual themes alone across the champions, the Freljord's aesthetic is savage, shirtless barbarians. Sej originally fit right in, but now her and Lissandra are outliers. More than half the males are human (and this includes Ornn). The only modest one is Nunu.

If you really wanna get down to skin-showin ratios? All the men (except Nunu and probably Ornn. Udyr is an edge-case if you count his in-game model) are wearing LESS than the females. If you put those outfits on females, you'd get a similar result to that image you posted up top.

Sexy Jack Rabbit1 votes

As far as pec-showing men go in the Frejlord we have Tryn and Braum. Olaf is easily wearing as much as Ashe. Udyr is wearing more, even if you count his splash. I'd count Liss and Udyr to be about the same.

Gragas is wearing very little but he's gross so not relevant to what I was talking about.

Trundle, Voli, Gnar, Ornn, Anivia (If we're gonna bother) aren't human so I don't really include them.

Nunu and Seju are modest.

Axzarious2 votes

Olaf's showing way more leg than Ashe, and if you attached the same equivelency to a female for Udyr and Olaf, they'd have stomach-showing levels of cleavage. Trynd and Braum are basically topless, so you can equate male champions baring their chest to female champions who are similarily lacking in coverage or armor.

My point is, when you start applying the same kinds of 'rules' across genders, the gap closes significantly, especially with some of Riot's more recent additions on the female end.

Sexy Jack Rabbit3 votes

I don't think I've ever seen someone ask for a modest female champion and not get attacked for it?

(I would not call Riven modest though jesus christ no)

Beyond Legends3 votes

Unfortunately it seems that there are certain sjw leaning memeber on these boards that have difficulty accepting other athestic taste. Quite frankly I seem far more maturity from those advocating for titty armour than those who fermently hate it. Not to say there aren't asshole on both side of this issue but I've seen some more nasty and toxic behaviour go un punished.

Personally I don't think bikini armour( from you picture) is bad per say, but I don't think it fit League quasi realistic setting.

Sexy Jack Rabbit2 votes

It's funny when you say about the Tumblrina thing when I really don't see much of that on the boards because it's banned by the rules. Feminism is literally not allowed on the boards.

I think the most common thing I see is people advocating for more sexy champs and people attacking people who want armored skins or varied female champions.

Beyond Legends2 votes

That is quite untrue, people act in respose to when said people who cries about having sexy champions. The boards here have both defended the rights of taliyah, illoai and fiora before, it's simply there are people here who seem have been crying because a more “anime” skin have been release this year.

As for the bikini armour issue, riot is quite frankly is very modest in it's design compare to most other games. I think you over state that everyone want's bikini armour, people simply defend the right for the existence and their personaly honor because many passive aggressive insult that those “tlumbrina” seem to miss

Last for the topic of femminisn, it's too much of parhetic shit show for this community. I hate both side of this debate equally, however I've notice the sjw haters are a bit more willing to listen to reason. But in the end, league is not a bloody political shitshow, we don't need more toxicity in this game then there already is over a stupid issue such as taste.

Sexy Jack Rabbit3 votes

Never seen anyone needing to defend fiora? Illaoi and Taliyah Sure. But people lost their ABSOLUTE SHIT over Fiora's visual changes, and anyone who tried to say they liked the way she looked got downvoted to a oblivion until riot changed her. But Fiora easily falls into the same category as Kat, Leblanc, Ahri etc. She literally has a porn trope skin in Headmistress and Pool Party is far from 'modest'.

As for Bikini armour that wasn't really my focus. But league isn't really 'modest' in their useage of it if you ask me. Close to every female champion has a bikini armor skin in some way. Sure it's not early WoW era but I wouldn't call Riot modest either.

As for SJW 'haters' listening better I've yet to ever see that tbh. Neither are as good as the other imo. Considering 'hater' is in the title it's funnier you'd say they listen. I mainly see them as the types to attack other people a lot more often tbh. Miya is a common person on this board who reaches front page with their posts attacking other people over their views. And she's about as anti-sjw as they get.

I look and use the boards pretty often and the last thing I've ever seen would be anyone not attacking anyone over their views. It's a pretty toxic place in the end.

Beyond Legends2 votes

Fiora issue is because people were piss that Riot was changed a sexy champion to non sexy one. People would freak out the exact same of riot suddenly change taliyah nose.

Riot doesn't suffer from bikini armout at all. If you actually want to see bikini armour in motion try one an korean mmo. I mean compare to smite and Dota league on the modest side, unless your world view of female modesty straight out of victorian england.

As for the hater arguement, I find therr far more willing to have dialougue if you aren't insulting their taste, which sjw aren't capable of doing. Also I'm not sure who this Miya person is, but I haven't seen post crying about the lack of sexy champion for month. And when people did ask for more sexy champion they were polite for the most part. Crying SJW are ruining league here get's downvoted for the most part.

My last point is that their isn't need add politic debates in league and adding more toxcicity in the game. I'm just saying that politic shouldn't be brought in game in general, social science are far too new ons topic for what most people. There too much emotionally charge people in both MRA and Femminism to have a proper disccussion over it.

Sexy Jack Rabbit2 votes

Except that Riot hadn't changed her to a non-sexy champion. Her Headmistress skin still looked the same and she wasn't 'unsexy' but any standard to begin with. People just couldn't cope with the idea of a female looking slightly different to the rest so y'all through a fucking fit lmao.

It's hilarious you'd even come close to comparing league to Dota when DOTA has A Better variance when it comes down to character designs. Their spider female doesn't have a form with massive tits for example.

As for the hater argument I frankly disagree. I think the biggest reason just comes from the fact that haters are never willing to understand both sides of argument. Which is kind of the reason why people call them 'haters' and not 'discussers'. SJW's are fucking annoying I agree, but it's more of a stereotype tbh. I don't know the last time I really saw a post of the opposite either lmao.

As for SJW's 'ruining' league. I'd like to see one example where they ever actually effected anything in league lmao. That argument is a fucking joke.

As for politics being brought in, that's kind of hard when the game's lore is incredibly politics heavy to begin with. It's pretty expected to show up tbh and you're ignorant to think otherwise.

Beyond Legends2 votes

Whether she have a sexy skin or not is irrelevant, the whole fiora has to do with her base splash change having a sexy skin doesn't matter, people liked her face before. It's not about people not being cope with different faces but it has to do with people liking the old face better. It's not about people not accepting “diverse” face but more about people not liking change. In the end all they did was adding Fiora old hair back with a sligh tweek.

Also stop cherry picking my world choice and making this about some irrelevant rant. Unlike sjw there is no define term for those who are anti sjw. You see this is the exact reason why people don't like sjw in generel, stop mis interperuting my intentions and listen for once.

But you know what, I'm done with this conversation. You claim neturality yet you cannot get pass your own emotional bias to see the other side, and choose instead to continue to white wash your side. This is exact reason why I advocate bans on sjw and feminism on these boards. Too often then not it turns into self righteous shit show.

Sexy Jack Rabbit2 votes

I don't really see where any of my emotional bias comes into this. I simply said that I disagreed with a few of your points. I don't really see how that's immediately 'emotional bias'.

I never diverted the discussion from League of Legends character designs and how I see them as otherwise except to reply some of YOUR statements.

And anti-sjw is a pretty definitive term for someone who is anti-sjw tbh. It's better then people slapping around words like 'mysgonist'/'racist'/'etc.' when those are never accurate or correct.

I listened plenty to your argument, but that doesn't mean by any standard I'm obligated to agree with you.

You're so in-built that what you're saying is 'valid' when really it's just opinions and those aren't always right or wrong.

Don't forget **YOU'RE THE ONE WHO MADE THIS ABOUT SJW'S AND FEMINISM. NOT ME. ** So don't play victim because YOU can't keep up your end of the discussion when someone doesn't agree.

From the beginning I made this post to say these are the kind of characters that boards overwhelmingly want. Never once did I mention disliking the design or wanting more modest champions.

Axzarious2 votes

Don't forget the slick hairdo Fiora was sporting before her rework. And the swagtastic threads she had. Her older appearance had a sense of style and flair that was much more interesting than her rework. Both base skins barely qualify as actual armor. If the armor looking impractical is the issue, that makes an even better case for her pre-rework appearance. A boast not only about her status, but her finesse and skill as well.

Even then, I would have been less irritated if they simply kept her face and hairstyle and used those with the new outfit. A 'classic Fiora' skin would have been wonderful. They also didn't need to trash her skins either, with Royal Guard suffering the most. The new splash art looks amazing, but that's probably because it looks like Fiora before Riot trashed her. It's a pity her in-game skin will never be as good.

HalfTangible6 votes

If you're hostile, people are gonna be hostile back. I have yet to see anyone present "modestly dressed female champ plz" on the boards without ALSO implying that there aren't any in the game (which is just blatantly untrue) and that anyone who says otherwise is a misogynist who wants the entire cast to be porn.

Kinda like you just did. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

Beyond Legends3 votes

I don't see how he is being agressive? He made a statement base on his obervation of the boards. I don't understand who this possible be offended to.

HalfTangible2 votes

"I feel like this is pretty accurate representation of what people want all the female champs to look like."

Does this not mean that he thinks the board wants the entire cast to be as scantily clad as the woman in the OP?

Sexy Jack Rabbit1 votes

I still don't see how that's aggressive lol. You're incredibly sensitive if me making a statement about the opinion I've formed of what I've observed on the boards is being 'aggressive' you need to harden up honey.

Sexy Jack Rabbit1 votes

What? I asked a question wtf.

HalfTangible2 votes

To be clearer, I meant you said that the board wants the female cast to be porn, and was giving an explanation why this kind of topic usually gets downvoted into oblivion. Namely, the person who makes the observation frames it as a problem with the game, its fans and/or its developers, where none exists.

Nik Nikerson2 votes

What about Riven isn't modest? The fact you can see her legs?

Variks the Loyal1 votes

I haven't seen anyone get attacked for talking about a modest concept.

Also, Riven is absolutely modest. She has the Battle Bunny skin, yeah, but skins are a completely different discussion.
