@Riot: Why do Xayah and Rakan speak like modern teenagers?
It's such a wild change from the usual narrative of the game that it throws me off every time I hear it. Xayah even cites internet memes.

relating with the average player
I mean like, why is Annie dressed like a modern pre-school girl? I think it's a mixture of A) trying to be appealing and marketable. B) Trying to appeal to the average player. C) Lots of little in-jokes. D) Experimentation in character direction.
Do people in Twilight not speak in modern teenage language?
I think that's why.
It irks me a bit as well. It makes it kind of hard to believe that they are characters that are a part of a consistent world when they speak like that. I guess it would make sense if they came from Zaun but they are magical animal-people that live in the woods.
Ivern does this a bit as well. His speech is like a teacher trying too hard to relate to his students.
These are all just nitpicks though.
Tell me. How much do you know about the day to day life of Vastayans? Of These champs? Of Piltover? What are their grettings, how do they say goodbye, what do they like for jokes? The answer? You know jack fucking all. For all we know, they have pribably spent a few centuries in places like Piltover, Zaun, and have learned many things, thus a blend of culture.... kinda like how people are today... EUREKA!!!
