Thanks a lot guys!
Riot is actually giving us quite a bit of time to write music, which in turn allows us to narrow in on uniqueness and quality.
What is very particular about League is that we constantly push out content. Musically, that translates into finding the appropriate concept for that content, and coming up with a piece of music that encapsulates most everything about the champ or event within a few short minutes. THIS part of the job, conceptualizing music, is, at least for me, the most time-consuming and energy-hungry portion. After that, writing a one minute piece or an eighty minute score isn't really all that different (obviously, the time it takes to execute is different, but the overarching musical concept is the same, rich and precise enough that it could serve shorter or longer scores).
The music team and myself spend a LOT of hours working on the music, and we're really thrilled that you guys respond so positively to what we do. Actually, when I'm trying to make a deadline, working late into the night, I remind myself of your appetite for our game and music, and this helps me to keep going.
