Post retcon, do you think Riot should find a place for the Institute of War to still be a part of Runeterra?

Dude, let it go already. Eyes forward, not back

Im still banking that the removal of the IoW and LoL is a 2015 April Fools joke. Six months strong now ~ I foresee it!

Because honestly, Riot made the decision to remove the IoW since around Jayce's release and (with the exception of the Freljord event) there has been nothing lorewise. There has been more Poro related content than lore!

Which is why I am certain come 04/01/2015 Riot is going to drop a Starwars "Luke, I am your father." Class lore bombshell that the IoW is still around, Reginald Ashram returns with an uncanny partnership with Jarvin the 3rd and [kats father, on my phone cant double check. Du-something..], they travel to the Void in a wiley adventure. They uncover the dark history of the Shadow Isles. They find out wtf Jax is (is he a troll? Is he a darkin? Is he a ninja turtle?). All of us lore nerds creame our pamts in excitement. Lore at last, lore at last!

Or it turns out the jokes on us and we get more champs like Yasou and Vel'Koz that could have a cool story but end up being nothing, just nothing. (Lorewise)

Considering the fact that they are stupid enough to toss away years of work, there is no sense in paying attention to pretty much anything narrative releases.

Btw, most of us who care about the IoW et cetera deem Factions lore as canon now.

I don't specifically need the Institute. What I want is immersion, a reason for the game being the way it is.

I'm for two options.....keep the current trend going, because while there is still LARGE amounts of clean up to do in regards to champion bio's and lore rebuilding to work around the lack of the IoW, there has still been some good lore produced since the ret-con and riot is moving in a decent direction at least.

second...keep the current trend going, but re-create the institute. As in, instead of the IoW being created a generation or so ago, tell the story of how the actual League of Legends is created and how it operates. Clean up the problems it had (summoners delving inside champions minds, puppet-master issues, ect)...keep the political intrigue that had been coming up since before Kalamanda, and give us a way for champions with no major faction alignments and no reason to interact with other champions a place to be and get involved with stuff

I actually don't want them to just say screw it, we are ret-coning the ret-con. Either keep going without the league, or use this new beginning to make the IoW far more interesting than it was before.

I sort of would have been...but if the same guys that retconed it out without any hesitation were about to write it anew - it´s probably better it stays resting in peace instead of being rewritten without respect and love.

Yes please.

I loved it. I want to be a Summoner again. I want to connect with champions again.

What would it do, exactly?

Honestly, I felt the IoW was a tired mechanic. Every new champ addition was "Champion wants to do thing, and joined the League so they could get thing!"

I'd rather they all just be out doing their thang. My only concern is how some champions will interact without it. For instance, what reason does Nami have to interact with ANY champion? she just needs her moonstone.

But things like this will be addressed eventually, and I am okay with waiting if it means I get the best product possible.

Overall I don't need the IoW back, but I wouldn't be against it either.

The IoW posed some problems,I agree with riot about that, but I think that it also had a lot of good sides(giving the game an actual justification and being a way for many champs to interact with each other). A lot of people say that the IoW wasn't that powerful as some people say,but in the end it was still extremely powerful hammering a lot of conflicts(stopping the kalamanda conflict and being the reason why noxus specifically targeted factions outside of it)

I don't think they should do the institute of war but I want to see summoners somehow brought back in. There's a mural of them as an easter egg on the map, and I think Rioters have confirmed the summoners will somehow still be cannon which gives me hope for the future. I'd just like a way for it to all be tied together somehow; the rift being a place that somehow bends the laws of reality in runeterra.
