Is the Dark Star skinline borrowing too much from Syndra?

Title.

I fear the proliferation of 'dark stars' in the skin line (particularly Thresh's lantern being replaced by one) is borrowing an uncomfortable amount from Syndra's design. Like, legitimately confusion-worthy in game play (Is that a lantern or a syndra sphere?), if not an overall concern with aesthetic pollution.

That is how dark matter is portrayed, it just lines up similarly with syndra. i could MAYBE understand some confusion in game though.

Very fair point. Are there any photos or videos of the abilities? That seems like something the design team wouldn't overlook, due to aforementioned confusion involved.

What if Syndra has cosmic link? What if source of Syndra's powers are related with Dark Energy?

I would understand the similarity then. Otherwise, wouldn't make sense that much.

It's possible but we should probably wait until we see the skins in their entirety before freaking out. Who knows maybe nothing will overlap with Syndra.

Except in that skin, Thresh's lantern has a huge, very noticable swirling effect around it, which Syndra's orbs don't have.
