Understanding Ekko

Ekko is a boy from Zaun, and in the trailer it seems like he lost a lot of his friends there. He also seems alone. On top of that, he has a huge grudge against all people from Piltover and the bad guys in Zaun, but it seems like Zaun is totally full of bad guys and corruption. Despite that, he is so loyal to Zaun. Why? He seems like a good guy; why is he so attached to the place that probably got his friends killed?

That's the place he was born and raised in. Enough Said

He was still born and raised in Zaun(and he still lives there with his parents).

Him being proud on Zaun probably comes from the rivalry of zaun with piltover.

Except we don't know any of his friends being killed by anyone from Zaun. We have three people we can confirm ekko knew: Jinx, Vi, and the guy from the comic. Only one is dead and he was killed by someone from piltover. As far as why he remains loyal to zaun he is a naive idealist (which is the best type is theyre usually the ones who get stuff done but still)

Zaun isn't evil, its just lawless, and somewhat insane.

Zac is it's superhero after all. And Zaunite's love him. So it can't be all bad.

Also Janna was a orphan from Zaun, which a lot of people forget.

I don't think Ekko has quotes toward Janna. Considering her lore, I'm fairly sad he's said nothing about her.

Now that you say, what is the hope for Zaun. I don't think it's ever directly referred to what he exactly sees in the city. Does he just broadly think "It can be fixed" or does he think there's plenty of Zaunites who would be great people if given a chance?
