@Riot: We need our own Uncharted Realms
For those of your who aren't familiar with Magic: The Gathering, Uncharted Realms is a portion of the official site where short stories are posted on a weekly basis. These can range from plot-advancing stories, to tangentially important tales, and anything in between. Though obviously reading isn't the most engaging way to convey plot and story, it's still one of the best ways for Wizards of the Coast to talk about the story of MTG.
Riot has stated in the past that they want a new way of conveying lore without just posting text dumps. That's why they canceled the JoJ and the Judgments. However, I do feel as though taking an Uncharted Realms-esque approach to lore in addition to the other things they do would be a huge step forward in giving us, the lore community, frequent updates without having to wait for larger events to come around.
Additionally, a LoL version of Uncharted Realms would allow for the Lore team to develop characters on an individual level. Currently, big events don't do much for specific champions - they just make some generic statements about a region or faction. Publishing a weekly story would allow for a more in-depth look at what makes our favorite champs tick. With over 100 champions in the League, there's no way we'll ever get reasonably-spaced development for them all at the current pace. Writing stories certainly would help that.
What do y'all think? Good idea? Bad idea? Any other suggestions?
