They still use "Summoner" when ending blogs and other stuff.
If it has been erased, could 'Summoner' it be replaced?
Yorick's rework could begin a new Role archetype that focuses on siege tactics sending waves of zombies with lane minions or even reanimate dead lane minions.

Who else would become Summoners?
- Annie: (may be kept as a Mage)
- Azir: Summons his ... immortal slaves.
- Heimerdinger: Summons his stationary turrets. (does this already!)
- Zyra: Summon enchanted wildlife, stationary or mobile.
- Malhazar: Summon Voidborn to besiege the corporeal world.
- Fiddlesticks: A repurposed demon Fiddlesticks may sweep lanes with terror.
- Yorick: A repurposed Yorick could raise zombies and sweep lanes with the Harrowing.
Remind yourselves that you cannot win a match without reaching and destroying the Nexus. This new archetype boasts lane-pushing. Their completely new playstyle may actually be the one major thing missing from this game! Consequent item changes would include re-purposing lane-control items against enemy Summoners and AoE damage items for teams without strong lane-pushing.

Mm, some clarification would be pretty nice.
like shonjl said summoners like us the people who play league don't exist on runeterra anymore (or never existed) , but riot uses the term to refer to us when they address us ( better than being called players) however a summoner as a person who creates beings or objects sill exist like 
etc. also when some champ are played they are powerful enough to be self aware whale we are controling them like 
to talk to us
I thought the whole Summoner thing doesn't exist anymore. Probably the only reason we have the name summoner spells and summoners rift is because they can't be bothered to change the name of something thats been named that for years.
