It's equivalent to Kassadin in terms of visual update for me. Not that big, but a good change from what was there. Now Sion, he had a HUGE visual update along with the gameplay change.
I'm pretty sure they were referring to like Fiora level and Karma level.
Was planning a Warlord Shen Cosplay... back to the drawing board....
You have no idea how good it is to have his auto animation feel natural.
By visual changes the mean thematically. And they stayed true to their word. Thematically this is the same shen, just more coherent, sharp and refined.
I like how they updated his Frozen skin to look like the current Icy armed sub-zero. Happy they updated his scorpion skin to look like the current scorpion as well, but I don't own that one :p
reminds me of garens VU. he looks exactly the same, just alot more polished.
Thank god. The one we have now looked like a hunch back kid who didn't suit the splash art. With this visual update, he totally looks the part and it makes me so very happy. Can't wait to go back to Support Shen role with this update.

Blood Moon has the best model, but his Q is really messed up. While other skins use the big sword from Shen's back for empowered AA's even when they have different models from the Spirit Blade, in Blood Moon sword magically transforms into a bludgeon for 3 AA's before reverting to being a sword.
And I love what they did with Yellow Jacket Shen. It is nice to see Riot wants to preserve MK references by basing him on Scorpion's newest appearances.
Except that ugly ass spirit sword that has a ginormous model....

Well there is no significant visual change, is still the same blue ninja with 2 swords.
Seems pretty much the same, just higher quality than before.
Warlord looks terrible, rito plox ;c
Honestly, it was mostly from his skins. And I liked the visual changes, I usually do. Problem is they made him "unique".

Warlord Shen is now my favorite skin.
Honestly I'd rather have this over his older model and textures. They (like a lot of older champions) really didn't age too well, though not as bad as some.
Regardless, I'm not sure why you're surprised that Riot didn't stay true to their word. They rarely do /cynicism
Them Crocs make this the best.
His skins actually look pretty amazing now.
My favorite has to either be Warlord or Blood Moon, though I think Warlord has a lot more detail and oomph.
