Riot, If the IoW is a Problem, Get Rid of It Through Writing, Not a Retcon. Don't Be Lazy Writers!

In earlier posts during the retcon of Runeterra, Riot responded to disgruntled players telling us that you didn't want to waste time with how Runeterra changed, but rather, you just wanted to get the new Runeterra up and running with the new lore direction and the old lore didn't really matter beyond core themes being maintained. Without any kind of transition.

I think this was your big mistake, Riot.

After establishing yourselves as one of the most player focused gaming companies of our time, you decided to throw the lore fans of League of Legends under the bus.

There's no getting around it, that's what you did. On the old forums, there was a group of highly dedicated players that you left in the dark for months/years because you guys didn't have a plan. They were left to make theories about Runeterra, in hopes of discovering its mysteries.

The retcon made all of the cool lore that stuff was based on void and null.

You seem to have assumed most players don't really care about the old lore or its resolution.

I hope that you have seen differently by now.

Riot, if you must, do the lore retcon the right way. Write the League of Legends out of League of Legends if you must, but do it through writing, not retconning.

Seriously, there are so many good stories that never got resolved because of this retcon...It's such a shame.

Edit: I don't buy that writing champions into joining the League of Legends was beginning to be a problem, because seriously, look at the lame champion bio's we've getting post retcon... I'd argue they are worse!
