Question for Riot about Varus and the Darkin

I'm really curious if Riot started planning the story behind the Darkin when Varus was first created or if it was a happy accident that he fits the thematic for a Darkin/host after the fact.

Personal opinions on the new lore aside, I really enjoy the idea of the Darkin and would love to hear about the concept from a Rioter :)

i think it was intentional. if you notice all the darkin are trapped in weapons. Aatrox a sword, Rhasst is a scyth and varus is a bow

I think they started talking about Varus being a darkin about 3 years ago when they released some info of there being 5 darkin.
