So pre-lore change why did Noxus attack Ionia before they joined the leauge was it just 'cause' or for shits n giggles or did they have a reason such as their land and if it was because they wanted to since no protection from the leauge then what is the new reason? i feel like this is a part in the lore that should remain since quite a few lores that are imo well written branch off of the event
I read a couple sentences from the dominion part in the client. It sounded like Noxus wanted the land for it's rich resources.
Turns out it was in custom games, click a dominion map one. (Oh, turns out that was Noxus and Demacia, nevermind me.)
They attacked Ionia because it was non-aggressive nation that didn't pose a threat, and Demacia wouldn't directly interfere with. Basically the Noxians saw them as weak and worth taking their lands from them.
The most apparent observation is that they felt it was a weak country that could easily be plundered for resources.
Funny thing, Noxus even gave a bs official statement on their motives.
"There was much external political pressure, particularly on the part of Demacia, for the invaders to leave. The Noxian High Command claimed they remain there to assist the island nation's future development, and that they would leave once Ionia had been modernized enough to economically compete in the world and protect itself from foreign threats."
Apparently they thought they were doing Ionia a favor XP.
