I just noticed something funny about Yordles

So Yordles are small and lovable creatures, but focus more on the small part. Now think of Top lane. Usually Top lane is connected to the "Tank line", "Fighter" or the "Beefy Front Line", yet many Yordles not only excel in the top lane, but are massive lane bullies, despite being small and cuddly. Teemo : Satan himself. If you are a melee top lane and AA a lot, he is fucking nightmare Rumble : A massive top lane , especially in competitive scene. He can be a huge bully and can often times run away with the game. Lulu : A good Lulu is the true nightmare of many top laners. She is safe, has a good escape, has massive poke, 2 shields and can shove you under tower like no one else. Heimerdinger : Not a meta top laner, but seen once in a while, and holy fuck will it piss you off. He just sits in lane takes you turret because you can do nothing about it. And God forbid him finish Zhonias and sit in the Bermuda Triangle. Kennen : Zion approves. He pokes, has no mana, is a massive bully , doesn't mind close combat that much, since he can ulti and stun then kill you. He rushes Zhonias, and now he has protection against you, a massive helper for his ulti and does a bunch of damage. Gnar : Is nasty. He poke away at your health , gets hyper tanky as mega Gnar, and does massive damage in mini Gnar. Is probably the most mobile tank and can be a nightmare to deal with. Poppy Do you late game ? You will. She is not really a bully , and can be dealt with early game, but holly crap, her late game is retarded. So out of 11 Yordles, only 4 are not top laners : Corki and Tristana, that are Adcs, and Ziggs and Veigar who are mid lane mages.

Bonus : Again, despite their small size, most Yordles excel in team fights. Lulu, Gnar, Kennen, Veiger, Ziggs, Corki, Poppy and Rumble all are massive forces in team fights and can turn the tides with a good play. Lulu with her massive shields and humongous utility, Kennen and Rumble because of their god tier ultis in both utility and damage , Veigar with his 5 stun cage possibility, with a one shot potential like no other, Corki with his mid game team fight prowess along with good mobility and AoE with Q and R, Gnar for his massive CC innate tankyness, Ziggs for his massive AoE and monster like damage, along with good zone control with W and E and Poppy for being the queen of fuck you, I am going to ult the weakest member of your team and killing everyone else.

The Bermuda Triangle is the best name I've ever heard for Heim's turrets.

Also really hard to target small people.

It makes sense when you think about it. This is an entire civilization of small furry people. How do you think they thrive in runeterra?

I'm sorry, lovable creatures?

as a rumble main, i approve. a qualification: some of these yordle tops (TEEMO, lulu, mini-gnar, kennen) are top-laners specifically BECAUSE they fit the yordle mold: small, mobile, and annoying as...something. Teemo and lulu can harras melee toplaners while being mobile enough to escape ganks, and lulu specifically needs solo lane farm to achieve her I HAVE MORE UTILITY THAN 100 JANNAS utility carry mode but can't stand mid ganks. Kennen honestly fits right into the pattern of cc tops, sort of liek a full-ap mao or an offensive zac with better poke but less tankiness.

You're thinking of it the wrong way around, it's not that top lane is tanky, it's that tank goes to top lane. There's nothing saying that the tiny can't go there. Besides, half of the champions you listed do fit the tanky archetype anyway:

Rumble: In a mech

Heimerdinger: Not tanky himself, but he sets up a frontline of turrets in front of him

Gnar: Starts off small, then hulks out

Poppy: Stout strength

Yea the one thing all Yordles have in common is that they are extremely good at pissing you off.

Corki If he gets even slightly fed then he will make midgame his bitch and there isn't anything you can do about it

Veigar 500% AP in one spell rotation on top of a stun cage the size of a J4 ult

Tristana long range and ludicrous Mario jumps good luck killing her

Ziggs when he is strong he singlehandedly one-shots every minion wave in all 3 lanes from fountain and stalls out games to the obnoxious lengths

My favorite part is that they are all basically a bitch to catch.

Teemo has a speed passive that he can summon for a quick escape while even if you catch up he has is bombs he may be leading you into which will slow you down more and possibly even give him reason to turn around and attack even with less than 40% hp.

Tristana Will ult you away and hyper leap her way to safety. and if she is fast enough she will leave you with an special present before making the escape (e).

Kennen can come off as either ready for a fight or ready to make you rage at how you "almost" had him. With his q he can set you up for his w or hit you with his e when you least expect it for the 3 stack stun effect making escape a breeze. And if his ult is available he is likely to abuse the stun to beat you down. In that scenario, hope you've got a enough defense to tough out the assault and damage to end him before he does you.
