Does riot have plans on upgrading LoL's Engine to take advantage of modern GPU hardware?

A lot of features you will notice is not in LoL for example a number of games made in 2006 has more advanced features in lightning and shadows and shaders.

LoL doesn't take advantage of most of the hardware found in a 2006 PC. Truth is they did it so this game will run on very low end PC, but times have changed and a lot has changed. Even integrated graphic chips in budget computers at wallmart from 5 years ago will run this game and they have hardware capable of running far more demanding games than this.

I think some sort of upgraded is needed. I mean we could keep the map and the art and everything the way it is, what I am saying is upgrading the Engine to take advantage of basic features of modern hardware will make a huge difference.

Maybe even DX 11 compatible.

The plan for Riot is to make league of legend playable for nearly every computer, so anyone could play it. They have the ability to create really intricate details on each champion, each small animation like a piston moving. But this would also make frame rates drop if you don't have an amazing $500 pc, especially due to lots of visual effects taking in place in a fight. So they decided to make sure anyone can play the game, even with a 'toaster'.

The engine needs no update. If you really think your pc is that good just turn everything to very high. Not good enough? I recommend a 4k monitor. Don't want to spend more money? I don't either. Or, if you already got one, just enjoy the game...
