Notice how Syndra faces the other way and is on the other side of the splash art? Considering Syndra's personality, I think this could mean something. What if Syndra betrayed the Star Guardians, became Dark Star Syndra and Star Guardian Syndra would become a skin like Captain Gangplank?

They have hinted at Syndra being evil in a couple other ways, too.

Sidenote: the enemy of the Star Guardians is not the Dark Star.
