From what Dinopawz (senior writer) said. I doubt that Urgot would be spearhead of Noxus relaunch

In respond to why there is no Lucian, Sona or Xin story included in this Demacia event. Dinopawz explained the reason behind this decision.

"Trust me, we didn't want to leave them out, but we felt we'd be better served in these stories (intended to properly establish the culture of Demacia) with champs who more intrinsically represented the character of that realm. We'll get to them eventually, but for the initial impact, we wanted to focus solely on the champs that are inherently Demacian." ref: http://www.surrenderat20.net/2017/03/red-post-collection-god-fist-lee-sin.html

This means they really care so much about choosing candidates who can execute a faction's "initial impact". That's why I doubt that we will see Noxus lore relaunch coming with Urgot's rework this mid year. We all know that Urgot is Noxian but he has strong ties with Zaun. This's not just my idea even Reav3 ever stated about this as follows.

"We also didn't want to do 2 back to back Zaun champions(While Urgot is technically Noxian, he has strong ties with Zaun)." ref: http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/champions-skins/champion-update/state-champion-update

I know it sounds monotonous but let me repeat this again that Swain is the perfect one who can do this job. Considering from Dinopawz's criteria, Swain is inherently Noxian. His grand general position makes him a perfect representative of this faction which values strength in any form. Moreover, He is high on VGUs list. Only thing they need to do is solving his identity and gameplay which I'm very sure they have discussed about it a lot.

The thing is that we'll likely need 2 Noxus events to get all the champs updated anyway. They simply weren't able to update all the demacia lores at once so they cut the less demacia-centric champs.

I mean in the Zaun event they cut Twitch simply because they didn't have the time to update him.

But Sona came from Ionia don't forget, so I guess she's not included cause she's a mix bag?

she'd probably be in the Ionia relaunch? go figure

Urgot has a lot of ties to Zaun as of now, but that could change with a VGU (look how much Galio changed with his rework on the narrative side). He could very well end up a core Noxian that is representative of the faction in some ways.

I agree completely. I myself still think there's a chance it could go either way for Noxus or Zaun. However I personally guess that it will lean back towards a second half Zaun LU.

Just re-phrasing what others hav said but it really really depends on what World Building and co. plan to do with Urgot's lore. Since their main focus is to... world build I don't know if a revisit is what they would desire most, especially when Zaun's update is still recent even by Jun/July. And apart from the crabman himself we only have two other champs to update, which isnt that exciting as much as i want Singed lore soo bad. I could see them adapting Urgot's background to be a lot more prominent role in Noxus. Therefore giving reason to do an LU for Noxus and SOME of the associated champs (Annie for sure wont be included).

Honestly Im super excited for this rework, it brings up a lot of questions. Like not only how will the dev team plan to rework Urgot's unique yet outdated current kit? But how are Narrative going to tackle his super simplistic/ lacks any depth lore aswell? We'll have to wait and see i guess.
