If you do bring VUs back do Twitch/Karthus way at least. New animations, modells, voice over, basically new everything.

need to have the half-ass work done on them completed. They've all by and far had kit updates in some form or fashion (some, like Alistar, Fiora, and Shen, more than others), and Maokai has had voice work done, but the rest of them need new voice overs and ALL of them need new rigging and animations to be fully realized VGUs.
As for your list, I think and are the only ones who are good candidates for a VGU with little emphasis on the GU. and have been critically flawed for quite some time now, and they need a lot more work in order to be up to speed. Ezreal especially seems to break the game every time something new is released, and Blitzcrank is so dependent on his Q to do anything, it leaves the rest of his kit as nothing more than addendums to his Q hits. Blitz needs his kit revitalized and reinvented to give him more functionality outside of landing Qs.

Yeah, I posted about this elsewhere and hope you see the elephant in the room too:
Caitlyn has so much fanservice in her classic skin and voiceover that it crowds out her theme. She wears a cleavage top, a short skirt, and leather straps around her thighs. Even when not talking about her “fuzzy cuffs,” she speaks with a ‘bad girl’ undertone that sexualizes her lines.
I wish she were at least re-skinned and re-voiced. Give her boots, trousers, and a jacket, with a belt and backpack for her gear. Her long, flowing hair would get grabbed by perps, so cut it into a bob. Last, give her enough muscle to handle chases, obstacles, and fights.
She would look great. Little steampunk gadgets could dangle from her belt or poke from her backpack. Her rifle could have a sling. Her hat could be of a reasonable size. She could even have treads on her boot soles. Caitlyn could be every inch the Sheriff of Piltover.

She could keep her long hair and wear it up in a bun or tight, short braids. :)

GreenLore1 votesYeah I agree with you. Currently Riot has more or less 10 slots for big projects(VGUs or champions),with 5 of them being in production and 5 of them being in preproduction. I always hoped Riot would eventually get another slot that simply focuses on finishing the stuff that was left unfinished the first time around.
And yeah I agree on Ez and Blitz as well. Ezreals Q and W seem too similar anyway and the mechanic of his W feels incredibly clunky(granted it is one of the more unique abilities). With Blitz the big question is how to take away some of his power from his Q without removing it(because lets be honest,it is incredibly fun to just pull an enemy towards you).I guess it'd be good if Blitz had to somehow mark an enemy first before he can even attempt to grab them.

Hupsis1 votesSome champions have aged worse than others. If the base concept on a champion is good, making a more polished version of the model should be enough. If a champion is lacking charisma, Riot will overhaul them.
I don't see what the problem is with Shen and Fiora... other than the old VO.

They are classified as "VGUs" on Riot's site and don't have even the most basic animations that new champions and actual VGUs get. Furthermore, their walking animations are clunky and dated, and not nearly as smooth as they should be. Shen's dance isn't designed to loop, and Fiora just has 1 autoattack animation that shows her slashing with her rapier. If you know anything about rapiers, they are not at all in the slightest designed to slash. They are swords purely designed for stabbing.
Hupsis1 votesFiora got a new walk animation and her attack animations are fine. Her Q and W are stabs as well as her critical strike animation. Also I don't think her sword is a pure rapier.
"Recalls and homeguards" do not add to the game clarity and are purely aesthetic minor additions. You can point out that they are missing, but bashing the whole "VGU" concept because of these minor aspects missing is over reacting.
Oleandervine1 votesThey're pretty major animations that have been added to VGUs before AND after the "VGUs" that Fiora and Shen received. Just because they might not add to gameplay clarity doesn't mean they're not important or minor. You have remember, this is a videogame, not just a string of numbers. Aesthetics are like 60% of a videogame's appeal, so not paying attention to, or completely ignoring it doesn't sit well with anyone.
Hupsis1 votesThere's a difference between primary aesthetics and secondary aesthetics. Players are more likely to choose a champion based on how they look rather than what emotes they have.
Oleandervine1 votesWhile that may be true, that doesn't mean that "secondary" aesthetics are less important. They are in fact, more important. Let's take Nunu for example. If Riot on a whim decided just to update his model, he would have a new primary aesthetic. Sure, that would catch some eyes. However, how that new model moves, if it is still using the ugly, clunky, old as the game itself animations, it creates a disconnect with the primary aesthetic, and thus creates a disconnect with the player. When something looks new, you expect it to be new, through and through. You don't expect it to sporting an ancient interior. That's why "secondary" aesthetics are more important. They deliver HOW the character acts, how they move, what they do, their personality, and a ton of other nuances about them. A picture is worth a thousand words, but your actions are priceless. If a character cannot deliver the look they have based on how they are animated, that's a major problem in character design. This is why Shen, Fiora, Miss Fortune, Alistar, and Maokai are terrible VUs and VGUs. They do not deliver the character in the way that a complete, modern design should.

For marketing purposes I'd say the contrary.
Also you can't compare Nunu to Fiora level update cause Nunu needs a complete overhaul. If Riot were to update only Nunu's model, it would be a bandaid fix until he receives a full VGU.
I'm more bothered that you think Fiora, Shen and MF VGUs are bandaid fixes just because they are missing few extra animations. Saying lines like "these champions won't be addressed until many years later, when Riot finally decides that they look ugly again" contains a mindset that expects Riot to overhaul these characters due to them suddenly becoming "ugly". Missing few animations doesn't make a champion ugly... it just means they are missing some animations. Their character concepts are solid.
Alistar, Maokai and Singed all received new models, however their character concepts aren't as solid as they could be. I can see them all receiving a VGU eventually once Riot gets past the most ancient of champions.

who needed just new textured models. It depends on the champion but not all of them can have equal visual updates.
