I kinda just realized this.
I know her selection line is "Only you can hear me summoner, what masterpiece shall we play today?"
So obviously her lines are outdated, but if Riot were ever to update her VO, what would they do?
Just have musical tones play for movement or something?
Or is she just going to be in a corner somewhere internally screaming at everything that's going on?
In Lore, Summoners are retconned. Ingame, you're still a summoner.

Naw but seriously, all of the places where champion VOs conflict with the retcon will not be fixed until each of those champions gets a complete rework since VOs take a long time to make (gotta get voice actors and lines for every language). When will Sona's rework come? Potentially many years since she doesn't have any huge problems nor does she lack visual quality. Or maybe Riot will go with the thing Legacy of Xion said in this thread already. Who knows.
Summoners aren't canon outside of the lore anymore,but the game is seperate from the lore and players are still referred as summoners.
Also they didn't clean up a lot of things when they announced the retcon,so stuff like Sona still talking to you might be something they simply didn't have the time to change.
Since the game isn't canon, she doesn't really speak with us, or something. I don't know, that's all I got for this loose end.
If Sona had her VO changed, it would probably be changed to have a musical VO based off of her etwahl in a similar fashion to how Rek'Sai has screeching noised for her VO and Bard has chime noises for his (its?) VO.
It definitely be unique, but I'd be worried that players would lose aspects of Sona that they like about her from her VO, as Rek'Sai and Bard weren't champions that got new VO's, but instead were new champions with brand new VO's.
