We removed everything core about Varus, simply for the sake of having a token gay character. Well lets get rid of Senna and make it so Lucian and Thresh were bffs and had a bad breakup, thats why they hate each other. Makes no sense, well tough luck thats the way new lore is going. No reason. While we are at it, lets just remove the Frozen Watchers from Lissandra's lore, Ekko's Z-Drive, Remove World Runes from Ryze, Darkness from Nocturne. Cause it doesn't matter that these are things that help define a characters story at all. We just need to appease the SJW community.

Demonic entity in the Pit of Pallas, corrupting influence that dominates the body of a person/people who surrender to it
Exceptionally skilled Archer who serves in the defense of Ionia
Noxian invasion reaches Pallas, Noxians kill/grievously wound archer's loved one
Archer, driven by grief and hatred, surrenders himself to the demon of the Pit of Pallas to enact vengeance
Struggle for control over the newly corrupted body

But sure, let's just say they removed everything core about Varus and complain that they made homosexual characters, even though their homosexuality wasn't even relevant to the story.

Varus himself isn't even gay,the 2 guys who made up his body were gay.
