What are the relationships of the Du Couteau family

How does Katarina, Cassiopeia, and Talon feel about each other? And what do they think of their father?

Obviously if you’re a general in a highly militaristic society, their family is pretty much a bunch of nobles, but did they see him as a father, a general, or a big name to live up to?

Ever since Cassiopeia got her “condition” she has been kept away from the world. Did her family lock her up because they were ashamed, because she could be dangerous, or to protect her? And what is her relation to Kat? Do they love each other, do they despise each other, or are they afraid of one another?

Talon is kind of a wildcard. Does kat and cass even know of his existence? Do they know that their father found some street rat and made him into an assassin? If so, do they approve?

Now that their father has disappeared, and cass is out in the world, what happens next? Cuz this is a pretty messed up (but very interesting) family. Will we get more with the swain rework?

I would hazard to say the specter of General Du Couteau lingers heavily in their minds, and I am assuming their upbringing was loyalty to their house above all. I would assume a sort of constant shifting of rivalry and competition goes on between the three, though probably not as much between Cass and Talon as between the sisters and the dagger assassins. I would also assume the general had a valet or officer who assisted him left behind to keep the three in line and remind them they always have other enemies and targets outside their house and not to weaken it with too much infighting.

Considering this image from the old lore, it seems that at least Talon and Katarina are in good terms and work togeter. Sure, Talon is "adopted" but he respects his "adoptive father" and is looking for him, so, he and Kat have a common goal: Find the General Du Couteau.

The real "wildcard" here is Cassiopeia... because we have never seen her interact with Katarina, Talon or his father in the lore as far as i remember. I think that it was mentioned that after what happened in Shurima, she stayed there, so, its possible that Talon and Katarina think that she died there.

So many questions, you must understand we're all in the dark as much as you are.

How about patience for the oncoming Noxus LU?

Is Talon even part of their family? Is he Katarina's brother for real? Because that's something really big lore-wise

Here's what we know from the little lore we have on the champs.

  • Cassiopeia is the youngest and most beautiful of the daughters of General Du Couteau
  • Katarina is the eldest daughter of General Du Couteau
  • Talon was adopted by the notorious Du Couteau family, although he may not specifically be that close with the general or his children.
  • Katarina admits that Talon is among the deadliest assassins in Noxus along with her and her father.

From this, we can really only bet on two things even once the lore is updated; Talon was adopted by the Du Couteau family and that they are all assassins. After that the water gets murky and mainly because he they are all hunky-dory between the people in Noxus, Riot we have no stories to tell.

I would assume in future story updates, Talon with have turmoil within the aristocracy as he is technically not even Du Couteau. If Riot really stretches it, Talon may be a child of another nation like Demacia that would fuel their dislike of him even more. Cassiopeia, based on her stories, I feel would not like Talon simply because he is not a part of the family and that seems par for the course with her character. Katarina on the other hand, I feel would see Talon as goal to overcome as he is much better as being strictly as an assassin who follows orders to a tee.

In future updates for Katarina, we can expect her to be struggling to live up to her father's name and expect her scar to stay central to her character. She and Cassiopeia I would expect to be hostile toward each other, but mostly out of fear as though both have unknown potential.

That's what I think at least.
