The Shadow Isles, the Ruined King, and Kalista

I wonder.

Kalista has several quotes when buying Blade of the Ruined King: "Once, he was a noble king, until grief overcame his reason." "In the end, it was not his blade that stole our lives."

Which made me think- Maybe the reason the Ruined King broke the barrier between Life and Death was not to forge an army of undead, but to bring back a loved one? And maybe Mordekaiser, who is "a being of pure, living agony on a mysterious dread quest" was sent to find out how to break the barrier? Maybe it went horribly wrong and the Shadow Isles became what we know them today?

You know, I've kinda been thinking about that for a while, and along with this quote from the Kalista AMA (Thanks, S@20)

if she knew the Ruined King: "Oh, yes... She definitely knew him."

Maybe Kalista is our Ruined Queen? Something goes wrong, she's betrayed by a trusted ally of the King (Hecarim, perhaps?), and his obsession with bringing her back and perhaps getting revenge is what screws up the Isles? Lots of conjecture, but eh.

I also think that the ruined king was hoping to bring someone back who was dear to him and that he cursed the land,hoping to bring back said loved one. But i doubt that kalista was his queen,she was most likely one of his higher ranking officers(or maybe a royal guard)

I'm pretty sure those altar spirits are the King and Queen of the lands. The King seems to enjoy death, while the Queen hates it. Also Mordekaiser seems to predate the SI's corruption.
