My old theory on Mordekaiser and his abilities.

  • I always thought of Morde, first and foremost, as the Metal Man who so happens to be a lich. He never felt 'undead' though.

  • I always thought his ult (Children of the Grave) was him infusing his target with metal, so when they died, he could control their corpse. Never thought it was anything too spiritual or magical.

  • I always thought he was the first lich because his metal consumed him from the inside out, leaving no flesh behind.

I know he never really had a specific story to him, and he's always been shrouded in mystery. But everything that's happened to him recently - gameplay, lore, and name updates - Morde doesn't feel like what I had envisioned him to be... Honestly, this new Morde would feel better if he didn't have any metal associated with him at all. :/

Well his ult did control the soul of his victims,so I dunno how that can be misinterpreted as something not spiritual(not to mention that his ability description and even his lore outright say that he controls the soul of his victim)
