Simply put, I think that the old lore direction was better than what we have now.
There was much more interaction between factions and every champion seemed to fit within the same world.
I would be really excited to see Riot pick up the old lore again and continue to developing it.
There were so many questions left unanswered, and some cool political directions to explore!
The thing is that this wouldn't really solve that much.
I mean the slow pace of the lore releases isn't because riot has problems with filling the gap thats left behind by the IoW,its because they simply became much slower,which is partly because they put more thought into the lore(in the early days making the background of a champ a "mystery" without much thought about it was ok) and reboot certain individual champs.
Bringing back the IoW won't speed up the lore releases and will in fact probably slow it down even more(because then they'd have to rethink some stuff they prepared for).
They would also have to create viable reasons for certain champs to join the league.I mean can you explain to me how 
could join the league of legends,without getting captured or summoned against her will?(Because those would pretty much ruin future stories for her,if she's captured,she can't interact with anyone and if she gets summoned against her will,that means the league can do it with anyone which is extremely op)
Not to mention that retcons are probably gonna happen even if they keep IoW(the freljord event retconned a lot even though the league was still a thing at that time)
The old lore was everything I've been wanting from a video game story the last 4-5+ years.
The retconned lore has no direction and no coherent setting.
I'm really just waiting for when they're gonna do it.
If I keep believing enough a miracle will happen right?
And then I can stop being in so much mental agony over this entire ordeal.
Um,from what I hear,it sounds like the lore wasn't thriving before the retcon.Very little content was being released & very little communication was happening.Apparently it has been that way since season 2.So retconing the retcon won't solve all the LOL lore problems.
A personal mantra of mine regarding creative concepts is that regardless of what the concept is, if it's developed properly, it'll work.
The old lore would've worked, had Riot not given up on it. The new lore could work, if Riot makes it something worth talking about.
Because they're committed to this change, I'm fine with it being as it is. However, I'm not fine with how they're handling things now.

Do you really think this petition, from you I need to add (one that insulted Rioters non stop for I dont know how long by now), is gonna do something? You have a better chance at getting in Challenger than convince riot to revert the lore to pre-retcon. Thats not how companies act, they wont just fall on their knees just cause you made a petition about something this unimportant. And yes, reverting the retcon is not the most important thing in the world, maybe you need to learn than and stop posting threads about it each week. For goodness sake man, do you have anything better to do with your life than to complain about some games lore?
The problem isn't necessarily the fact that the Institute and the League and summoners are all gone, the problem is really with narrative itself. If tomorrow they suddenly announced that the retcon was a mistake and that everything would be returning to normal, do you seriously think everything would instantly and miraculously make a turn for the better?
No. Because we'd still be stuck with the same fucking hacks feeding us the same goddamn lines and stringing us along for months at a time, reminding us not to talk about specific story ideas because of copyright issues and saying with perfect seriousness that borrowing ideas from other sources is nauseating while ignoring the fact that the entire fucking game itself is based on borrowed ideas...
Ahem. Sorry, every time I head to Story & Art I get a little furious. But my point is that the retcon isn't the issue, and the only possible reason I would prefer the old lore is because it wasn't a void.
