Tbh,I think it might be answered or retconned entirely.

In the old days champs were mostly just created,I mean there was definetly not anything planned about shaco,we've even got an interview with him,which really revealed nothing.

And while I am not happy with everything the lore team does,it looks like they put a lot more thought into the long-term of the stories. They have a reason why braum seemingly doesn't age,they know already the circumstances about gnar getting frozen in ice,etc. Its just that we aren't told these things,because that would be obviously a spoiler(sadly this isn't very satisfying since it will probably take a while till they get the retcon done and manage to actually solve any of these mysteries)
