So, question...
What would happen if the host of a Targonian Aspect, say Taric or Zoe, also became host to a Darkin after finding one of the Darkin weapons? Like, would the Aspect/Darkin fight for control or would they just be one mega-being?

I mean personally I hold the opinion (An opinion based purely on speculation) that the warrior queen that wielded the weapons and sealed the bridge to the darkin weapon was an Aspect, so I would've said that the darkin couldn't hope to vie for control of an Aspect's body because of the Targonian Aspect within.
That's just me though. I would still say that even disregarding my above thoughts, an individual darkin is likely not as strong as one of the Targonians, and they wouldn't be able to overpower and control the body of an Aspect with such a powerful force protecting them. I mean sod, Rhaast has a difficult time with Kayn; a mortal human with some forbidden magic. I doubt the darkin would be able to contend with a being of Targon inhabiting a human.
I expect most celestial Aspect would personally intervene with their host and destroy the Darkin weapon. Although it could depend on the celestial's ulterior motives but Aspects dont strike me as malevolent beings, so it's doubtful one would want to utilize such a malicious and deranged thing.
I think that the aspect would control the body of the host as easy as they do without a darkin being.
Why?
Well, it seems that the Darkins do some kind of "mind control" since they try to corrupt the mind of the host until they take complete control over the body... but the Aspects do something else, when they control the body, the host has no chances of fighting back... the host just go to "sleep mode" and the Aspect takes full control of the whole being as if it were its own body. They dont need to ask for it or anything.
So, i guess that the Darkin would be controled by the Aspect.
I doubt a darkin could actually take over the host of an aspect.
Though I think it would be technically possible for a darkin to be chosen as the host of an aspect themselves, after all there is no reason why an aspect should be unable to make a darkin their host.
That's a neat question.
I hope they fuse into some monstrous hybrid both sides hate but secretly covets.
Hell if I know.
Interesting question!
Fully based on speculation, I'm of the opinion that, purely to keep it simple, it's a "room-for-one" type deal. An Aspect has already taken this mortal form, a Darkin would have to not only best said Aspect, but banish them as well.
Putting myself into the shoes of a lorewriter, I would say that unless I had a really good plan for how the dichotomy would work, it'd be best to keep it simple and say "only one possessed per mortal form."
Now, there's another layer of your question, though: if an Aspect found a Darkin weapon, would it become host to it?
So far, we can say with confidence that anyone who grasps a Darkin weapon is immediately susceptible to its corruption. In Kayn's artwork, we see Rhaast corrupting his left arm, which he uses to wield the staff. I'm not sure as of this moment, but I think Kayn uses his other hand to deal two-handed strikes, so it might be a matter of consistent contact. It is gameplay, though, and probably just animation oversight.
The question that I have is this: who is more powerful, a Targonian Aspect, or a Darkin? A Targonian Aspect probably has massive individual power, but not likely the type to bend the general will of many people. In Aatrox's current lore, he inspired soldiers to bear the strength 'of ten men' and fight on with him. I'm not extremely familiar with Varus' newly reworked lore yet, so I won't comment on that, but Rhaast seems to be just as capable a fighter as Aatrox and Varus, given feats and hearsay.
Targonians are intergalactic space travelers, as the lore gives us, and managed to trick Aurelion Sol into obedience and service. So far, we don't have a champion example more powerful than Aurelion Sol (and there was a tier list of power given to us by a rioter a year or two back, I believe?). Granted, that wasn't a matter of power in terms of outright combat, but in cunning. Also, Aurelion Sol is extremely arrogant, so it was more his blunder than their success, in my opinion.
But these character we're talking about (Zoe, Pantheon, Taric, etc.) aren't Targonians: they're Aspects. Targonians are basically gods, while these Aspects are less in power but offer up mobility throughout Runeterra.
So... Aspects versus Darkin. If it was an outright battle, I think Darkin win through battles of attrition, but they have no hope of inhabiting a body before they do so. I'd like to think an Aspect is immune to a Darkin's corruption if that Darkin is in its weapon form (Rhaast, for example), though.
