The guy has prob the shortest "short story" out of all the Demacians, his relationship with Shyvana who is such an integral part of his story is barely explored(a story with them talking and interacting would be much appreciated Rito), Garen is supposedly his best and most trusted friend someone who considers as close as a brother yet their relationship is but a footnote in his biography. He barely interactions with his father( who is very, very likely dead now thx to Sylas). His character and storyline is dripping with potential yet Riots seems to be doing nothing but pushing Lux and seemingly only Lux out of the entire Demacian cast what with her having by far the most lore, an upcoming comic series and will if Riot truly goes off the deep end quite possibly also be the main character in the Demacia novel that is coming up. Cmon Riot, Demacia isnt a 1 champion faction. Give our Prince the love he deserves, play off his ties to dragons what with his weapons and armour, do something with this character who is nothing if not a giant opportunity waiting to be taken.

The reason why so much is unexplored abour his relationships is because he simply has so many in addition to his regular lore.

I mean his lore has to deal with his own character arc, his place as the heir to the throne, him being friends with Garen, getting mentored by Xin Zhao, him befriending Shyvana and his current place in the lore.

They just don't have the space to give all these relationships the needed attention in just a small bio.

Granted this could have been helped by his color story, but the color story instead focuses on J4 planning ahead for a battle, which isn't unimportant because the experience with the noxians would leave an impression on him and this story shows J4 still being someone who doesn't hesitate to be at the front, but who now plans his actions ahead and coordinates with the rest of his unit.

If they make Lux the main character of the event I'm literally going to cry

Jarvan has always kind of had a problem: he’s pretty boring. As a character.

In his original state he was basically just another Demacia shouting warrior much like Garen. Only Garen did it first, and arguably better.

When he was rewritten they gave him some potentially interesting flaws and more thoroughly differentiated him from Garen. Where Garen would focus on the prejudice against mages, Jarvan simply had his hotheadedness to contend with. Of the two Garen still had the more interesting inter-character dynamic with Lux who clearly was being set up as the “key” character in Demacia lore.

Jarvan, meanwhile, ended up getting a story where he essentially played second fiddle to the actual protagonist of his lore: Shyvana.

This, I believe, leads to some real confusion on what to do with the character. The main event of the fall of Demacia is a political drama which I believe will have Jarvan move into a more highlighted focus in time. But as of now, his dragon girlfriend isn’t really set up to play a role. And since most intetesting things about his old lore revolves around the dragon girlfriend, neither was he.
