If You Wrote a Novel Based On a Champion? Who Would Have the Best One?

I believe the honor of this would go to Kindred. It's a creative story, when you have 2 spirits who relentlessly haunt you, when you don't know what or where they are. It's also more likely to have perfect word placement, due to how elegant Lamb is. You'll never be bored, when you get a mix of action, heartbreak, and suspense from the novel "Masks of the Kindred"

Make it Riot?

I have an idea. Why don't we start a story writing group? It's easy to see how passionate a lot of us lorehounds are about the characters within the League universe. I wouldn't assume Riot would disapprove of the idea, since officially it would be fan-created and not actually canon so it'd be safe in most regards.

Anyone who knows the old lore will probably agree, one of the best, if not the best, would have to be Lux. There's far more depth to that story than one of Riot's current lore stories could fit, so a full novel would be perfect.

Hopefully those who don't know the old lore will agree once they read up on it a bit.

Might be my bias to Jhin. But if the novel was First Person it would be a really interesting book. the page length would be beautiful too.

I don't know why, but a while ago, I made a short list of all the stories in the lore that could be turned into some kind of TV show or book. Here is that list.

Drama/Suspense about Kassadin investigating the Void invasion soon to come.

They're already going to expand the story of Shurima

More on the Noxian invasion of Ionia.

They could always adapt Burning Tides into a TV show

Action/Romance/Adventure about Noxus vs. Demacia with a focus on the Du Couteau family and Swain/The Black Rose’s rise to power. Also Garen’s relationships with family, the king/prince, and Katarina.

Finish the story about Zed and Shen vs. Jhin.

Finish the story about Cait and Vi vs. Jinx.

Chronicle of Ezreal’s adventures.

Chronicle of Talon’s missions.

Chronicle of Lucian’s adventures.

Chronicle of Shen/the Triumverate’s “missions.”

Chronicle of Poppy’s journey.

Action/Adventure featuring Riven and Yasuo’s quests for redemption.

Documentary about a Noxian’s journey to Shurima.

Ekko and the Zilsta: CHRONOSQUAD.

Drama about random people’s encounters with the Kindred (Something like this)

Varus You all know a story about Varus will end in tragedy no matter what. And that'd be a fantastic thing to read / write.

Challenge accepted!

Once upon a time, there was a hungry little fellow, nether human nor yordle. red in color, sharp claws all around, fearsome his open mouth. the creature devoured whatever it could, growing and growing, futher and beyond, till nothing would be left for him to eat. As it comes closer you should take the leave, I hope you spoke your last words, my friend, then his mouth is the last, what we both will se..OMNOMNOMNOMNOM

I've already been playing around with names in the sense of an archive of stories.

For example: The Epoch of The Illustrious - This would be idealized towards fully fledged stories Unspoken Memoirs - For those who enjoy their first-person story telling Myths of the Implicit Beings - As to a normal person in Valoran a champion's status would be accepted without question, especially if their power was phenomenal to them

Jhin

The sheer amount of beauty and tragedy you can make with this champion in a longer narrative is phenomenal.

Shacowned11/4/2016, 5:28:12 AM1 votes

Personally i think Shaco Maybe a story of how he became mad or some story about what he really is. Kassadin A story about his trips into and out of the void and maybe the search for his daughter. Aatrox Maybe a story less about HIM and more about the Darkin as a whole

As much cancer as Yasuo is, he has a really nice storyline that was supported by the release of Taliyah. I'd write about it.

Elon Musky11/6/2016, 1:23:08 AM1 votes

Kindred, in my opinion, would fit perfectly for a novel. I 1000000% agree with you.

I also think that a novel on the relationship between Katarina and Garen would be like a forbidden love story :P

Extrasolar11/6/2016, 5:08:10 AM1 votes

Ezreal, most definitely! Partially because he is in desperate need of some character expansion/development, but an Indiana Jones-esque series of fun adventure stories (with magic artifacts and stuff involved) would be pretty great to read. Not to mention, it'll give people a chance to worldbuild in Runeterra. It could be turned into a series super easily too.

Buzhidog11/3/2016, 10:15:37 PM1 votes

These 3 Nautilus Interesting because of some substance making him extremely powerful and binding him to his suit. He also seeks vengeance on the sailors that abandoned him, he's independent, but would he attack people in Bilgewater? He's one of the more mysterious champs because of a few things. Some details of his lore aren't relevant now because of the changes, his encounter with the Black Mist (how do you fight ghosts with an anchor?), and his powers. What kind of magic allows glowy eyes and the strength to bring water out of the ground? AurelionSol A celestial being who creates star and is enslaved by a race of sun worshippers. Apparently he fought other entities such as himself, so I'd like to see another character like that. His knowledge is also very extensive, so would he have a link to Vel'Koz? I know he has encountered things from other dimensions. Also how does "God Dragon" die to maniac? VVVVVV Jhin A deranged artist who's virtuosity (lol) is killing. I honestly want to know his backstory since not everyone's born crazy. I also want to see what kind of jobs a higher up would send him on. I also want to know more history between Shen-Zed-MasterYoda-or whoever with Jhin.

I put it in order of my personal interest. You can tell because of the length.

Ryze Viktor Yorick Jhin

Ryze is a powerful mage further empowered by the world rune he collects causing rune energies to flow through his body. He is constantly searching, never stopping, and due to the Rune's nature he must keep going. To keep them safe, to save the world from itself Ryze has committed himself solelyto securing the world Runes of Runeterra which are magical devices capable of Cataclysmic catastrophes. But to secure them, Ryze has to undergo various trials and somewhere in the darkness where he ventures a presumed entity is searching for him.

Viktor seems like a rather complex character due to his original moral driven intents before him being highly discredited for his work and his work later used to create monstrosities such as Urgot. Viktor set to his goal of improving humanity and chose to undergo significant cybernetic modifications to point you would no longer recognise the man underneath. He has presumably to a degree removed his capacity feel emotions and now seeks to change the world for his "glorious evolution" to which he deems the future of all mankind.

Yorick is isolated with the only beings he ever contacted being the lost souls forming the mist which makes up his cloak as he ventures in the shadow isles biding his time to defeat the Ruined King in the name of the undead and all the souls that ever suffered due to the shadow isles. He believes he can lift this curse and though his methods are sometimes cruel and sadistic it is through these methods that the shadow Isles will be brought to.

Jhin is a complex sociopath driven by his desire to perfection, it wouldn't necessarily be a novel about Jhin but who would be his protoganist exploring a world created by Jhin and his twisted vision, uncovering all the crime scenes, narrowly escaping death and exploring the Virtuosos background to uncover his dark history.

Urgot, the never-ending tragedy.

mr Boombastic78711/3/2016, 11:00:27 PM1 votes

As a trundle main I have to say a novel about the trolls invading the Avarosian (Ashes tribe) or some other Freljordian tribe or kingdom. Not from the trolls perspective but from a random soldiers or Ashes perspective.

I don't really like Kalista that much post death but pre death Kalista have the best lore in my eyes! I would love to read a novel about how they defended against the assassin attack, about her quest, who she met, methods she tried to save the queen. Finally about that she finds the island and talks to the elders, only to come back home to find the queen dead. It would be cool if riot would end the book at the moment that Kalista died and only see things from her perspective. I would not like if they would put in the spell from the ruined King and all that, because we have already read that. Her quest, her mission could be expanded upon and be so much more detailed.

I have some last words about novels about league. I do not think riot should do any novels, until they have updated all the bios. Because I think every character should exist in the world before they make any books. What if Kalista didn't meet Jax in the novel, but when riot put him into the lore they make Jax a very important part in her lore. They can not rewrite their novel. They will have to keep their novels canon. This is just an example I do not think Jax is a part of her lore.

Korosu Uno11/4/2016, 2:59:39 AM1 votes

Freljord Olaf

even if it would be similar to Gotrek and Felix

I still think it would be epic.

Demacia Lucian, or Quinn

Noxus Darius or Talon's youth but I would really like to read in full detail the battle between Garen and Sion

Piltover I don't really like this place, I mean I like the whole steampunk theme but the champs seem boring to me. maybe Rumble since he studies there or the continuation of Twisted Fate and Graves since they were heading there.

Zuan easily Ekko.. maybe teaming up with Zac since Zac I believe is a good guy there, unless they change his backstory recently.

Bilgewater Gankplank or Nautilus

Mount Targon Leona, Diana and Pantheon (although I liked Panth back story the most)

Shurima the continuation of Sivir and Taliyah story or Amumu and him being an actual boy and not a damn Yordle

Ionia Jhin or Yashou

Shadow Isles anything really, they have been my fav stories so far but if I had to pick one, Yorick

Bandle City I want to see Veigar madness consume him and actually become a threat but with the new direction riot is going with Yordles. I have come to me less interested in them tbh

The Void if they approach it like a lovecraft story with Malzahar I would like to read it

The Great Barrier I would just like more info about the place if it still a thing
