Why all the items in this game are named after someone?

WHo the fck is doran anyway? Why does he have a shield a blade and a ring named after him WHO IS LUDEN O_o Raba-who?

And a tons more items are all named after someone, that as far as my knowledge go, we will neveser see or have never saw /heard before.

What i like to belive: All this items demostrate an amazing lore that we don't know yet because Rito is working on it, and will show us oneday.

What in reality this mean: Rito justput names on items just for idiots like me to belive the first option above.
