Just because a champ is not hot, cute, sexy and/or beautiful in their splash art, doesn't make it bad. I've seen complaints about Janna, Ahri, now Katarina's splash being bad just because they aren't a superhot bombshell.
Being a designer is more than just making a hot male or female champ splash art.

The funny thing is how every new splash art for almost every female champ creates a huge ruckus about how they aren't sexy enough,yet everyone denies that it has anything to do with being sexy(ok some people don't deny it,but most of them).
When

Kat has plenty of skins. Buy one you find attractive and use it. Problem solved. Just saying the splash is bad cause she's not attractive is not constructive critisicm.
No, sorry. Some of those splash arts you mention have NOTHING with them being hot or not, which is funny that you mention, because all those new splash arts are WAY more sex-driven than the old versions. Seriously with Kat's boobs.
It's not even that difficult to spot. Compare JUST Kat's face in Warring Kingdoms vs the new Classic Skin arts. Who does she think she is? Ezreal with red hair? Should we talk about Sivir's broken spinal cord? And what about dated splash arts that have NOTHING to do with the ingame model? Ask Phantom Karthus and Riot Girl Tristana. Who the heck are those assholes in the splash arts anymore? Not to mention... they re-release Tristana in 5.2 but can't even have her new splash for 5.3?? Then you have the Graves nonsense with the cigar. In some countries, owning a weapon is flat out illegal and offensive, so why not give him LITERALLY a Nerf toy weapon then? Challenger Ahri just looks wrong. I don't know how, but they messed up her head somehow. There's this guy in DeviantArt who made a way better version... Imo, where there are some brand new splash arts that are just gorgeous, some others come out as flat out UGLY and for a while now I've been thinking the Splash Art department is the LAZIEST in all of Riot. They even are resorting to having a single splash for skins on the same theme like the upcoming Warwick and Ashe. That used to happen before, but nowhere near as often as now.
Someone needs to slap them and get them to do things. Seriously... they can't even release the normal Skin for Tristana even one patch later?? Even though they stated that "It's very easy to alter the old splash just by fixing some layers of the drawing" Apparently not...
I liked the original remade splash of Ahri, but I gotta say that the Katarina one is... unexpectedly ugly. :S

Yes it does. If Katarina was unattractive from the beginning then it wouldn't matter. But Riot can't turn a 10 into a 6 and expect no one to raise hell.
People have opinions. You can't change that unless you have extremely good debating and advertising skills. I personally like the splash coz it shows how fierce she is and is ready to strike.
how i feel about your post? female champs should not be beautiful/sexy because they should be strong and aggressive. what if i tell you i think its possible to have a beautiful and impact splash art without making the girl looks like a monster? because this is not katarina i recognized for the past two years. :)
