How I see the League of Legends

Considering the lore retcon and Riot stating that the league of legends doesn't exist, I have had a lot I been thinking about in regards to the lore of the game. The way I envision Summoners Rift has changed in an extreme way. First though, to understand the perspective I have I need to explain the way I view the champions now.

Champions are the legend of a person. Using an example would be King Arthur, while the legends likely started in regards to a real person or series of people, the character that is King Arthur is not who the real person ever was, but that's okay. Similarly in the league of legends you have your legends, and I'll use Braum as an example. Braum had legends told of him and the character you play is a product of those legends. That being said, you also have the same explanation for his dragonslayer skin and his el tigre skin. They are still braum but they are a product of different legends.

This is true for every champion. You have Kallista, and an altered version of her legend, blood moon Kallista. So on and so forth. So what then is summoners rift. In perspective of the lore, I would think that Summoners Rift, or any map for that example is a way of pitting these legends together in a fantasy arena. Even though you'd never see Lucian and Thresh together within their tales, but when you pit them up in a fantasy team you could theoretically put them together. This is what the maps are, the fantasy arena's where you put your variation of the legend to the test.

Still think that Riot wants to bring back a renewed and more ret-con friendly League of Legends after all. Just a hunch, i know about the statements of Foundations team, but i can't stop but think that the Institute of War (not necesserely the one we know) might come back in some way.
