Taric Teaser Speculation
So, there is a new teaser for Taric, which shows an ornate ring falling into the snow, with the caption being "to ascend the mountain, I had to let everything go".
This is really just rabid, pointless speculation, but I'm going to take a guess as to what the new lore is going to be. Taric will be changed to be an individual from a noble/privileged family, obsessed with material wealth. He bedecked himself in all kinds of jewlery and finery, but there was always a feeling that he was lacking a particular element to his collection, or something to that effect. He heard the legends of mount targon, and believed that he could make the climb-- and that by climbing the highest peak in Runeterra (Valoran?) he would truly have collected everything the world had to offer.
Only, the mountain doesn't put up with that shit. As Taric climbed, it got colder, the climb got harder, and he had to divest himself of more and more of the precious finery and jewlelry that was weighing him down--literally and figuratively; everything he clung to had to be cast off as he climbed. By the time he reached the peak, he had nothing left to him, and was reborn as the aspect of...I dunno, SOMETHING, once he had let go of his materialism.
...I could be entirely off base, but those are my thoughts. I partly hope I'm wrong, because Taric starting off as a kind of debutante that's obsessed with wealth/money doesn't really resonate with me, even if he DOES shed it to become something greater. Thoughts?
