Isn't anyone slightly worried or am I overthinking this?

Before I begin this isn't a complaint/a rant and several points might be wrong due to myself being uninformed.

Now, we all know Summoners and the Rift no longer 'exist' meaning that our games, these fights aren't real. It's more or less a power level discussion on a forum or something about who is stronger. Because the games aren't actually real and thus the champions aren't real, isn't anyone worried that their favourite champion/s may actually be dead/non existent in the terms of lore and Runeterra as of, in-universe, present?

Like how Bard, although noted to protect, could just be part of Runeterra's mythology. Like how Nocture/Fiddle/Shaco could be ghost stories to scare children with. Like how Rengar could've been smooshed when he found Gnar.

It does add a nice layering to the world of Runeterra though, if that's the case.

Does anyone even understand why Riot removed Summoners from the lore...? They said they would rework the lore, but why hasn't there been any changes yet? They announced it months ago. And the Rioters kept getting like thousands of downvotes, but still they didn't listen to the community and player base. Also, this is just more work for Riot's lazy as hell employees that make the lore... They will have to channge champion lore and the overall lore of the game. Unless they do something amazing, everyone will keep nagging them about this.

Thing is with this Retcon it had the potential to be pretty good. It took out the possibility of some cool champion synergy ( Shaco Jinx for example, champions that had no clue of each other), but at the same time it largely bettered the world's flow and pacing. The problem they did is they never really had a plan.

Put it this way: You take apart a huge house, bulldozers, everything, because you plan to make another one. Normally, one would make blueprints, make sure they have the right materials, etc. to build the new house. Except you have none of those. You have absolutely nothing required yet to build this new house. That is the state the lore's in.

I thought the other reason for the retcon was so that they could "continue to develop champion stories over the game's lifetime".

You can't do that if the character's dead.

I don't think anyone really knows what to expect out of the Retcon anymore.

What if they had a game mode where the lore gave you buffs according to the champs you selecting. Examples: If you pick Vi, you cannot pick jinx on your team. but if you pick caitlyn, you get a buff. something like if you both ult the same person within a few seconds, it does bonus damage. If you pick kha'zix, you cant have a renger on your team. But with each kill, khazix, gets an evolution. pre-6 or whatever. Same with renger, if he gets kills, he gets a free stack on his passive. If you pick all freijlord champs, you all have increased slows or something. if you pick all noxian champs, you get move speed and AD If you pick all democian champs, you get more health and resistance if you pick gnar, you do more ult damage to rengar. there could be endless interactions. lucian-thresh vik'tor and like...half the champs ww and soraka ww and singed jax and....nobody

and not these cheesey buffs they have now with 1 health bonus or whatever, but make a game mode where the champ lore synergy is a core part of the game. I think that would be incredible.

I think there's a difference between being thought of as dead/a myth by the populous as a whole and actually being dead/a myth. As such, it doesn't really change anything.
