There's a part where Yasuo says: >“Nothing was broken that cannot be mended.”
Now Remember Riven's champ select quote is: >"What is broken can be reforged!"
Looking closely, you will notice that they use different wording but pretty much have the same meaning. This begs the question, were Riven and Yasuo friends before the death of the Elder?

Veraska2 votesIt's unlikely they were ever friends since riven is noxian and yasuo is ionian but we do know there stories happen around the same time, riven leaves noxus after an ionian attack rubs her the wrong way and yasuo is marked a murderer for a crime he didn't commit
It's a theory that riven was the one to kill the elder, he died during a noxian attack when yasuo left his guard post and riven is a noxian who uses the wind technique (her ults called windslash and even in game yasuo has a special taunt when she uses it)
The parallels are there but it's not totally confirmed, but that's the story I'm most excited about hearing

Yeah I know the Riven theory which brings me to conclude that Riven didn't murder the elder. Yasuo just THINKS she did. I believe they were friends, and maybe Yasuo ran into Riven and sneaked her in. Then when the elder died, Riven escaped because she didn't want Yasuo to think she was the one. I mean it's a reach but you never know.
And the fact that they both used similar quotes just makes me even more curious. LoL might not be the best in terms of gameplay but their recent lore has been

AninLegions7771 votesLool. True. I didn't explain it well enough. Maybe Riven was from Ionia and she was friends with Yasuo but she got kidnapped by Noxian soldiers and raised in Noxus.
Veraska1 votesit's a stretch but i can see characters lives spanning across regions, hell the new champ is ex noxian soldier from shurima whose traveling through ionia and the freiljord and maybe targon to get home.
another thing to note is on riven and yasuo's champion pages they have eachother listed as rivals, so even if they were friends before they certainly aren't anymore, something went down.

Marbelara1 votesAnnie is a warrior and a child at the same time. Taliyah is a child and a warrior too. Riven was a Noxian poster child, send into battle when she was only about as tall as her sword, if memory serves me right. Noxus has that entire child soldier thing going down just like Demacia.
Personally, I do not care if they met before the exiles, but I really want to see them befriend each other as sad lonely hobos before the elder-death-framing-revenge thing goes down. Just to ramp up the drama. Not like that relation isn't charged to the brim anyway, but still... hnnngh, drama...

Nope. You didn't. So as long as lore is incomplete, there's room for assumptions.

AninLegions7771 votesNot brothers and sisters but if you notice, they have trickery in common. Won't be surprised if they are connected somehow. Also look at the quotes I used. They are EXACTLY the same and are not a joke. But a quote which seem to be shared in common. Just saying though. It could be nothing.
