Looks disgusting as all hell O.o or at least it looks seriously poisonous and not apetizing at all...
maybe it's the greenish color? since it's HONEY fruti, I feel like an orange-ish color would fit better maybe? I don't know the bulbous look irks me beyond everything x_x
I dunno (and I don't have the inside secrets either, so I'm just guessing) but it looks a lot like an aggregate fruit to me - in fact, it looks a lot like certain varieties of white raspberry, or even golden raspberry.
Of course, added to that, it does seem to have a certain... glow to it, which as you might imagine by the name, I am in favor of. ;)
I strongly suspect that bluey-green is associated with healing, and it's not too overpowering a contrast in the river, so that's where the color is from. I could be wrong though!
I agree that I was a bit confused they were called honeyfruit, with that color - and if it were up to me, I might suggest the blobs on the fruit be more regularly shaped (like a raspberry).

Ever heard of Honeydew? It's greenish-white on the inside. This looks like a cluster of them, which is where I am guessing the name came from.

It's a game readability thing. Every healing effect in the game is associated with the colour green, hence the colour of the plant.

Maybe that's only the shell? A lot of food looks kinda weird when the actual good stuff is inside. Also, as someone else said: kinda looks like wine grapes, so pretty normal if you ask me.
