@Riot - Taliyah already seems like a favorite. A few questions.

Soooo, I'm a mid main and I love mages in every game. However, this gem is already shaping up to seem awesome. Just a couple questions, that I think you can answer because they aren't too in depth.

I love Avatar: The Last Airbender. Toph is one of my favorite characters and Taliyah seems to semi resemble her in terms of the short hair and her crest on her head (which may be shuriman or something of the sort, but also resembles some symbols of earth benders)... So I was just wondering, is Taliyah in any way, based off of Toph or at least inspired by her?
Is this the full fledged Mage Meddler recently spoke of being released this year, or is there still an even better Mage to come?
I hope she has an awesome release skin. Maybe Molten Taliyah? Lava rocks please!

Anyway, I'm really loving her so far! I can't wait for tomorrow to see what else she offers!

She looks to be basically a PoC version of Toph, which is amazing cause PoC girls are wonderful and beautiful. That aside, her kit and name are cool as shit too, I think I'll be playing her quite a bit..

About your first point: I think that the way she moved the earth was partially inspired by Toph(you know basically riding on an earth wave and her general movements),but I doubt that there are more connections. I mean read the "bird&the branch"-story and she seems to be the complete opposite of toph(wouldn't surprise me if this was intentional to avoid comparisons to toph)

Yea I read it already. I'm not saying she's exactly Toph, I'm just wondering what inspirations may or may not be inspired by her. And the riding earth thing in Homecoming is definitely a Toph inspiration. I don't care what they say about that. Haha

Yeah toph was most likely an inspiration for her. When they design champions they generally look at multiple sources of inspiration and when you make an earth-bender-girl its pretty hard not to be inspired by toph in some way.

Ah but sand is no more than pulverised rock! she can already bend it, she just prefers huge hard rocks for her use.

I would say her method of controlling rocks seems heavily based off of Earth-bending in the show. Hard and slow motions that carry a lot of weight to them.

I'm going to be slightly dissapointed if it turns out she's a utility support instead of a lane mage. Sol just came out and he's a mid mage. Nothing against supports, but as a jungle/mid mid lanes can be a lot more flexible.

Yea but he's a pretty heavy utility mage..Not the traditional type mage that Meddler said we would get.

Sol isn't a utility mage. He's a sustained damage mage.

I personally think Taliyah will be a utility support. Her powers in the story mesh with this because she has pop up, spikes from the ground that slow, and she flat out created a tomb of stone to trap people.

Don't be mad. But I would love a support. Taric will probably end up top lane (he has early lane bullying that rivals Pantheon to the max, found out in hexakill when double Taric literally zoned us to our turret before minions even spawned). Probably.

For me supp has always been the most flexible role o,o reason for going there.

Team needs a tank? Easy, Thresh, Braum, Blitz, etc. Team has no ap? Easy, Karma, Zyra, Brand, etc. Team needs heals? sure, Raka, Sona, Bard, etc. Team wants a kill lane bot? Sure, Xin, Brand, Karma etc.

Mid: Whoever kills the fastest wins or whoever can cc first wins.

Also, at this point, I feel even if she was a utility support I would finally become a fan of support. I'm already pretty excited for this champ and she isn't even released yet haha. #TOPH
