Scale of warfare in Runeterra

With the amount of massively powefull characters the question arised in my head. What is the point of armies if Xerath can scorch dozens of people at a time and Mord can rampage his way through hundreds of troops. So in my mind in order for these characters from autowinning every battle they are in is to make the armies truly massive. Hundreds of thousands of men clashing at a time and even nations like Demacia can easily field tens of thousands of soldiers at a time. It is always easier(at least for me) to get invested into these larger than life characters when they have a infinite amount of fodder to shread through.

Anyone agree?

First, there aren't many Xerath or Mordekaiser level individuals. They are exteremely rare. Second, they are usually limited or have business to avoid them from having fun of annihilation. Third, they have their counterparts. They are not the only one who wield the power. Examples, Xerath has Azir and Nasus, Mordekaiser had united armies against him and probably will have again.

Many Demacian and Noxian soldiers are likely very superhuman. In Garen's animated short for the 2017 Worlds you see other Demacian knights training with him pulling giant stone statues just slightly slower than he does.

Its more complicated than that.... Xerath cant harm Garen because xerath is magic and petricite absorbs magic( garens armor)...You could maybe capture xerath in a petricite cage? Morde is strong but there is many intelligent champions who do want to expand their reign (e.g. Lissandra,Zyra) and we do not know if Morde can match an Iceborn... Second that shadow isles! the harrowing takes anyone so maybe they could take morde? (dont relly know since I dont read his Lore) But yeah, with the void and darkin, Runeterra is a complicated world and it isnt that easy to determine warfare...

petricite must have limits. It cant just be a magic black hole. If so what are the limits? how much mana per ounce of petricite can it absorb?

Hmm, I’m the opposite. I usually get invested with characters when they have to struggle to deal with the fodder. Challenge makes an interesting character, and if they can cut through 1000 enemy soldiers on a good morning then what’s the point of the army even being set up as a challenge?

To use a tv example, Daredevil was way more interesting struggling to defeat 6 thugs in a hallway to save a child. Than fighting 60 super ninjas pretty easily.

And in terms of nations and worldbuilding. All of the nations resources should be focused on getting 1 of these super humans. Especially if they’re actually intelligent.

Oh you’re wearing anti-magic armor? Would be a shame if someone were to instead turn the ground you’re walking on into lava.

Well those armies might not be able to win against the likes of Xerath or Mordekaiser alone. But they can make the difference while supporting other powerful characters.

I mean Morde is powerful and likely able to defeat an army himself. But could he win against Galio,Garen,Jarvan,Shyvana,Lux AND a demacian army?Thats another question.

No character in lol is curently omnipotent or near that level...Xerath can potentialy reach that level if he breaks free of his prison(remember xerath is a mage he can learn(and likely knows) more tricks than destruction magic )... Mordes power is unknown but the black mist is not doing very well lately... I dont consider darkins a threat either since in the past runeterra killed thousands of them..(and they had their real bodies) Aurelion is controled by targon and honestly....he can just destoy shit...in terms of sheer force he is on top( for now) but i think that xerath has an edge over him due to his manipulation skills and the variety of spells he can learn...other mages may be able to control or weaken aurelion as well ..we dont know!( a free aurelion could most likely destroy runeterra) Aspects of targon have no feats to support a high power level

Bard is a msytery....but he most likely specializes in protection magic and traveling.. kindred : there much controversy about them...if they have the ability to manipulate death then they can possibly end the universe but i heavily doubt it.. Ryze : He holds a nuclear bomb..if he wanted to he could have potentialy destroyed valoran in an instant ( along with himself) but he is good guy! zyra is a wild card...i hope she becomes a swamp thing #2... :P( but i dont find it likely) Brand is a spirit less powerful than nasus and renekton.. the watchers have unknown power..however they are pretty dumb...their servants(with the help of a certain demi god) managed to defeat them... Mundo is a strange one as well...if his regenerative power is good enough he may be unable to die by conventional means..

vastaya are pretty weak compared to other beings.. Karma has enormus potential......she can reincarnate and keep her memories... yordels are comic relief ( at least from my perspective) I have surely forgot someone ...but my point remains power levels are prety balanced at the moment ...no character can simply annihilate a nation(except for the oens that dont want to!) ..because that nation has at least one other character that matches him in power...

p.s : zoe can be the most powerful of them all...but talking too much is not a sign of wisdom and power...
